THE TESTIUOSI CK TUE WORLD.
HOLLO WAY'S OINTMENT.
BAD LEGS, BAD BREATS, SORES
AND ULCERS.
AM description of fores are remediable
bj the proper and diligent use of this ines
timable preparation. To aitmpt to care
bid legs by plastering ihe edges of the
wound togther is a folly; for should the
si ia unite, a boggy diseased donditioa re
mains underneath to break out with tenfold
fsry in a few days. The only rational)! and
stccetsfnl treatment, as indicated br nature,
is to reduce the inflama.ion in and about
tbe wound and to sooihe the neighboring
parts by rubbing in plenty of the Ointment
. an salt is forced into meat.
; DIPTHERIA, ULCERATED SORE
THROAT, AND SCARLET AND
OTHER FEVERS.
, Any of tbe above diseases may be cored
by well rubbing the Ointment three times
a day into the chest, throat and neck of the
patient; it will soon penetrate, and give
mmediate relief. Medicine taken by tbe
re oath must operate upon the whole sys
li m ere its influence can be felt in any lo
0:1! part, wheress the Ointment will do its
work at once. Whoever tries the unguent
in the above manner of the disease named,
or any similar disorders affecting the chest
and throat, will fiud themselves relieved as
by t charm.
PILES, FISTULAS. STRICTURES.
The above class of complaints will be
removed by nightly fomenting the parts
with warm water,, and then by most effect
ually rubbing in the Ointment. Persons
offering from these direful complaints
aboutd lose not a moment in arresting their
progress. It should be understood that it
iti not sufficient merely to smear the Oint
ier.i on tbe affected parts, but it must be
vrell rubbtd in for some considerable time
two or three times a day, that it may be
taken into ibe sjttam, whence it will re
move any hidden tore or wound as effect
ually as though palpable to tbe eye. There
gain bread and water poultices, after rub
bing in of the Ointment, will do great ser
vice. This is the only sure treatment for
females, cases ol catcer in the stomach, or
where there may be a geuerai bearing
down.
I N DISCRETIONS OF
YOUTH ; SORES
AND ULCERS.
Blotches, as also swellings, ubo, with
eertairr.y, be radically cured if the Oint
ment be used freely, and Pill be taken
nigal and morning as recommended in the
primed instructions. When treated io any
other way tney only dry up in one place
to break out in anoiber ; whereas this Oint
ment will remove the humor from the sys
tem, and leave the patient a vigorous aud
healthy being. It will require time with
the use of the Pills to ensure a lasting cure
DROPSICAL SWELLINGS, PARALYSIS
AND STIFF JOINTS.
Although tbe above complaints differ
widely intheir origin and nature, yet they
all require local treatment. Many of the
worst cases, of such diseases, will yield io
a comparatively short space of lime when
this Ointment is diligently rubbed into the
parts affected, even after every other means
have failed. In all striou maladies the
Pills should be taken according to tbe di
rections accompanying escb box.
Moth the Ointment and Pills should be used in
tht following cases :

RAYMOND'S FAMILY
SEWINQ MACHINE!
PATENTED MARCH 9, 1858.
PRICRSIO KAdl.
f ESSRS. ZUPFINGER & ROBBINS, of
i'A Bloomsburg, laving purchased the ex
clusive right of th above valuable Impro
ved Cheaf Paten! Sewing Machine, for
the County of Colambia, will be fmppy in
supply their friends with the article for the
accommodation of themselves and families.
The following are some of the superior
advantages ibis implement possesses, viz:
1. It sews from 400 io 600 light stitches
per minute.
2. Double thread Machines aie from the
more complicated character of their mech
anism invariably managed and tl.readed
with more or lei-s difficulty ; not so with
RAYMOND'S, a child can manage it in two
hours, and it is threaded easier than a com
mon needle.
3. One of the most valuable features of
this Machine, is the smallness and the
comoactness of its mechanism.
4. It can be attached to a board, table or
siand, in operating order, and removed in
less than half a minute.
5. It greatly economizes the thread, and
yet produces a seam, sufficiently strong for
any work for which it is intended, a qual
ification not known to all kinds of Sewing
Machines.
6. No human hand is capable of produ
cing a seam so regular and systematic.
The seam is 60 strong if well done, that the
suongect material will tear before the
seam will give way.
7. Among tbe array of Pa'ent Sewing
Machines, there are none so cheap and
durable as Raymond's Patent, but no Ma
chine is adapted to all kinds of work as
experience has proven. There are perhaps
none so realy useful, doing such a variety
of wore for ihe immediate use of the fam
ily circle, and at such a moderate price as
RAYMOND'S PATENT.
8. The operator can shape his seam just
as he pleases, waves, leaves and flowers,
etc., can be represented or imitated.
9. It is particularly adapteu io all kinds
of stitchicg such as gentlemen's shirts,
bofoms, risibands, collars, etc., and all
kinds of ladies' sewing, including silks,
lawns, delaines, calicoes, clusters, etc. ex
cepting for men'sheavy wear, this Machiue
is rather too light ol construction.
10. But we all admit, that the advantage
to health, and principally to tbe vision or
eyesight, inuueed by the ue of Sewing
Machines, surpasses infinitely all oiher ad-
vantages.
11. This Machine fastens the seam al
ways itself, but if the operator wishes it
unfastened or open, there is a way lor it
too, thus you can have it fastened or not,
as you please, which is, sometimes, espe
cially for beginners, a very fav orable cir
cumstance. If the seam is left unfastened,
you can draw it out io three seconds and
save the thread.
For sale by ihe undersigned, at their re
spective residences, in Bloomsburg, who
will put the Machine in operation and give
all necessary instruction.

The experience of thousands daily proves
that no preparation of Iron can he compared
with it. Impurities of the blood, depression
of vital energy, pale and otherwise tickly
complexion indicate its necessity in almost
every conceivable case.
Innoxioos in all ma!ad:es in which it has
proved ab-oluiely curative in eac'i f the
following complaints, viz:
In Debility, Nervor.s Affections, Eman
ation, Dyspepsia, Consumption. Diarrhoea,
Dysentery, Incipient Consumption. Scrofu
lou Tuberculosis, Sdt Rheum, Mismeu
b ruatioii. Whites, Cnloroiiis. Liver Com,
plaint., Chronic Headache, Rheumatism,
Intermitteut Fever, Pimples on the Face,
In cases of General Dbiiity, whether tbe
result of acute di-eai-e, or of ihe continued
diminution of nervous and muscular energy "
fiom chronic complaints, one trial of this
restorative has pioveJ succ.eceful to an ex
lent which no description nor written attes
tation would render credible. Invalids so
long bed-ridden as to have become forgot
ten in their own neighborhoods, have sud
denly re-appeared in the busy world as if
justice returned from protracted travel in a
dirtant land. Some very signal ii, stances
of this kind are attested of female Sufferers,
emaciated victims of apparent maramo,
sanguineous exhaustion, critical change,
aud that complication of nervous and dys
peptic avemiou to air and exercise for
which the physician has ho narne.
In Nervous Affections of all kinds, and
for reasons familiar to medical men, the
operation of this prepara-i-m of iron must
necessarily be salutary, for, urlike the old
oxides, it is vigorously tonic, without being
excitiiig and overheating; and gently, reg
ularly aperient, even in ttie mot obstinatis
caes of cotiveoess without ever being a
gastric purg,alUe, orindicling a disagreeable
tt nsation.
It is this latter property, among others,
which makes i. so remarkably ehVctual and
permanent a remedy for File, upon which ,
it also appears to exert a di;mct aud speci
fic action, by dispersing, the local tendency
which loriiiS them.
In Dyspepsia, innumerable a are its
causes, a fin2Se t'ox of thee Chalybeate
Pi'ds has olt?n sufficed for the raol habi'ua!
cases, including the aitendent Com'i veness.
In unchecked Diarrhoea, even when ad
vanced to Dysentery, confirmed, ernancia-
ti'.g, and apparently miligtint, the effects
! have been equally decisive and astonishing.
; In the local pai'i-, o-s of fie.ri ami

j hectic, which generally indicate Incipient
Consumpt n, this remedy h -is allayed ihe
alarm of friends; and physicians, in several
