RAYMOND'S FAMILY
SEWING MACHINE!
PATENTED MARCH 9, 1858. -
I'RICE 10 EACH.
MESSRS. ZUPPINGER & ROBBINS, of
Bloomsburg, having purchased the ex
clusive ri?ht of the above valuable Impro
ved Cheap Patent Sewing Machine, for
the County of Columbia, will be happy to
supply their friends with the article for the
accommodaiionof themselves and families.
The following are some of the superior
advantages ibis implement possesses, viz:
1. It sews from 400 to 600 tight studies
per minute.
2. Double-thread Machines are from the
more complicated character of their mech
anism invariably managed and threaded
with more or lets difficulty ; not so with
RAYMOND'S, a child can manage it in two
hours, and il is threaded easier tbaa a com
mon needle.
3. One of the most valuable features of
this Machine, is the smallnesa and the
coimacinesB of its mechanism.
4. ' It can be attached to a board, table or
eland, in operating order, and removed in
less than half a minute.
5. It greatly economizes the thread, and
yet produces a seam, sufficiently strong for
any work lor which it ia intended, a qual
ification not known to all kinds of Sewing
o - ...
Machines.
6. No human hand is capable of produ
cing a 6eara 6o regular and systematic.
The seam is so strong if well done, that the
strongest material will tear beforo the
6eam will give way.
7. Among the array of Patent Sewing
Machines, there aro none so cheap and
durable as Raymond's Patent, but no Ma
chine is adapted to all kinds of work aa
experience has proven. There are perhaps
none so realy 'useful, doing such a variety
of wore for the immediate use of the fam
ily circle, and at such a moderate price as
RAYMOND'S PATENT.
8. The operator can shape hi3 seam just
as he pleases, waves, leaves and flowers,
etc., can be represented or imitated.
9. It is particularly adapteu to all kinds
of stitching such as gentlemen's shirts,
bosoms, ristbanJs, collar, etc, and all
kinds of ladies' sewing, including 6ilks,
lawns, delaines, calicoes, dusters, etc., ex
cepting for raen'sbeavy wear, this Machine
is rather tooliant of construction.
10. But we all admit, that the advantage
to health, and principally to the vision or
pvesioht. induced bv the use of Sewing
Machines, surpasses infinitely all other ad
vantaaes.
1 1. "This Machine fastens the seam al
ways itself, but if the operator wishes it
unlastened or open, there is a way lor it
too, thus you can have il fastened or not,
as you please, which is, sometimes, espe
cially for beginners, a very favorable cir
cumstance. If the seam is left unfastened,
you can draw it out In three seconds and
save the thread.
For 6ale by the undersigned, at their re
speclive residences, in Bloomsburg, who
will put the Machine in operation and give
all necessary instruction.

Rubbery. The office of ihe old Railroad,
in West Chester, was broken into last
Thursday night, and robbed of a smaM a

We, EVANS & WATSON, would ask

In cases of General Debility, whether the
result of acute di-ease, or of the continued
diminution of nervous anJ mu-eular energy
fiom chronic complaini, one trial of this
restorative has proved successful to an ex
tent which no description nor written attes
tation would render credible. invalids so
long bed-ridden as to have become forgot
ten in their own neighborhoods, have sud
denly re-appeared in Ihe busy world as if
justice returned from protracted travel in a
distant land. Some very signal instances
of this kind are attested of female Sufferers,
emaciated victims of apparent marasmus,
sanguineous e'xhanstion, critical chai.ges,
and that complication of nervous and dys
peptic aversion to air and exercise for
which the physician has ho name.
In Nervous Affections of all kind, and
for reasons familiar to medical men. the
operation oi mis preparation ol iron mosl
necessarily be salutary, for, m.like the old
oxides, it is vigorously tonic, without being
exciting and overheating; and gently, reg
ularly aperient, even in Hie most obMinata
cases of lOMtvetiess-whlTDTir ever being a
staonc 'purgative, orindicling a disagreeable
rensalion.
It is ihia latter propery, among others,
which makes it so remarkably ehVctualand
permanent a remedy for Piles, upon which
it also appears to .exert a distinct and speci
fic action, by dispersing the local tendency
which lortrts them.
In Dyspepsia, innumerable a are . its
caues, a single tox of the-e Chalybeate .
Pills ha often sufficed for ihe moi habitual
cases, including ihe attendent CosiivMess.
In unchecked Diarrhcea, pveu when ad
vanced to Dysentery, confirmed, emancia
ling, and apparently malignant, ihe affect J
have been eqtiUiy decisive and astonishing.
In the lucal pain, los nf fltj.h and
strength, debilitating cough, and remittent
hectic, which generally indicate Incipient
Consumt t in, this remedy has allayed lh
alarm of friends and physicians, in r-everal
very g-atilying and i itere.-liug instances.
In Scrofulous Tubercnio.tis. (hi mediral
ted iron has had for more than ihe good
effect of the mo-t cautiously balanced pre
parations of lottine, without any of their
well known liabilities.
The attention of females cannot be too
confidently invited to this remty a ltd re
storation, in the cases peculiarly affecting
thera.
!n Rheumatism, both chronic and inflam
matory in the latter, however, more deci
dedly it has been invariably well reported
both a alleviating pain and reducing Uih
swelling and stiffness ol the joims and
rau-cles.
In Intermittent Fevers it must necessarily
be a great remedy and euerue ic restorative
and its progress in the new settlements of
the West, will probably be one of higb re
nown and usefulness.
No remedy ha ever ben discovered in
the whole history of medicine, which exert
och prompt, happy, and fully restorative
effects. Good appetite, complete digestion,
rapid acquisition ol strength, with an uuu
