In Light Street, on Saturday evening last, the subject, "Is the Republi can party a better tariff party thin tho Dem ocratic party ?" was freely, socially and ably discussed, by W. Wirt, Esq , of this place, and Mr. Martz, of Light Street, the former taking the negative and the latter the affirmative. The discussion was held before a Debating Clcb of that place, which is composed chiefly of Republicans.
