WEST CHESTER, Pa.
Saturday, Feb. 5, 1859.
Robbery. The office of the old Railroad,
in West Chester, was broken into last
Thursday night, and robbed of a smaM a
mount ol money. The thieves entered the
building in the rear, broke the doors, and
locks off the desks, and attempted lo get in
to the large iron safe, but did not succeed.
The Safe was mannlsctured by EVANS &

in front of our store, which is eaten full of

AN aperient and Stomachic preparation
ol IRON purified of Oxygen and C'aibon by
combustion in Hydrogen. Sanctioned by
the highest Medical Authorise, loth in
Europe and the United State, ehtf rretcn
bd in their practice.
Tbe experience of thousands daily fT6Ve
that no preparation of Iron can be romparinf
w itl it. Impurities of the blood, depression'
of vital energy, pale and otherwise ic'k!y
complexions indicate its necessity in atmobt'
every conceivable case.
Innoxious in all malad;es in which il has
proved absolutely curative in each of th
following complaints, viz:
In Debility, Nervor.s Affections, E maci"
ation, Dyspepsia, Consumption, Diarrhcca
Dysentery, incipient Consumption, Scrofu
lous Tuberculosis, Salt Rheum, M Urn en
struation, Whites, Chlorosis, Liver Com
plaints, Chronic Headaches, Rheumatism,.
Intermittent Fevers, Pimples on the Face,
&c,
In cases of General Debility, whether th
result of acute dixease, or of the continued"
diminution of nervous and mn-cular energy
fiom chronic complaints, one trial of this
restorative has proved successful to an ex
tent which no description nor written attes
tation would render credible. Invalids so
long bed-ridden as to have become forgot
ten in their own neighborhoods, have sud
denly re-appeared in the busy world as if
justice returned from protracted travel in a
distant land. Some very signal instances
of ibis kind are attested of female Sufferers,
emaciated victims of apparent marasrnun,
sanguineous exhaustion, critical change,
and that complication of nervous and dys
peptic aversion to air and exercise lor
which tbe physician has no name.
In Nervous Affections of all kinds, and
for reasons familiar to medical men, the
operation of this preparation of iron must
necessarily be salutary, for, unlike the old
oxides, il is vigorously tonic, without being
exciting and overheating; and gently, reg
ularly aperient, even in the mot obstinate
cases of costiveness without ever being a
gastrin purgative, orindicting a disagreeable
sensation.
It is this latter property, among others,
which makes i: so remarkably effectual and
permanent a remedy for Piles, upon which
il also appears to exert a distinct and sneer9
fie action, by dispersing the local tendency
which lorms tbem.
In Dyspepsia, innumerable a are its
caues, a single rox ot thee Chalybeate
Pills has often sufficed for the mol habitual
cases, including the attencient Cosiiveues.
In unchecked Diarrhrei, even when ad
vanced lo Dysentery, confirmed, emancia
ling, and apparently malignant, the effects
bave been equally decisive and astonishing.
In the local pains, lots of itesh and
strength, debilitating cou?h, and remittent
hectic, whirh generally indicate Incipient
Consumption, this remedy has allayed the
alarm of frteuds and physicians, iu several
very gratifying and i-iieieting instances.
In Scrofulous Tuberculosis, this medical
led iron has had for more than the good
effect of the most cautiously balanced pre
parations ot iodine, without any of their
well known liabilities.
The attention of females cannot be too
confidently invited to this remedy and re
storation, in tbe cases peculiarly affecting
tbem.
In Rheumatism, both chronic and inrlaw
matory in the la'.ter, however, more deci
dedly it has been invariably well reported
both a alleviating pain and reducing tU
swellings and stiffness of the joints and
muscles.
In Intermittent Fever it must necessarily
be a great remedy and energetic restorative
and its progress in the new settlements of
the West, will probably be one of high re
nown and usefulness.
No remedy has ever ben discovered in
the w holeQhistory of medicine, which exerts
uch prompt, happy, and fully restorative
effects. Good appetite, complex digestion,
rapid acquisition ot strength, with an unus
ual disposition lor active and cheeriul ex
ercice, immediately follow its use.
