    THOSE WHO WANT FAKMB.
r A Farm within the reach of every Man.
1 rpHE RIOGWAY FARM COMPANY has
has made arrangeroenla by ■which all
who desire to settle or purchase a home can
do so.
The Farms consist of tho beat limestone
soil of the most superior quality for farming,
in ii rapidly improving place, into which an
extensive emigration is now (muring. The
property is located in Elk Oonnty, Pennsyl
of some 10,000. The climate la perfectly
health?, and the terrible plague of tho nest
fever is unknown. It also has an abundance
of the best quality of Coal and Iron. The
price to buy it out ia from $3 to S2O per acre,
payable by installments, co be located at the
timo of purchasing, or a share of twenty-five
ocies entitling to locate tho same for S3OO.
payable fO per month or 18} acrea payable $4
per month. Discount for every sum o r SIOO
and under, paid in advance, ami for ovoj SIOO
a die .ount of 10 per cent.
In considering the advantages of emigrating
to this locality the following are proscntcd :
First —The roil is a rich limestone, capahle
of raising'the heaviest crops, owing to whi.-h
this soitlcmcnt has obtained its present groat
prosperity.
Srronit—lt is the centre of ,he great North
West Coal lladn, and is destined soon to be
come one of the greatest business ( laces in
the State. It will supply the great Lake mar
ket, (according to tho population and travel
the greatest in the Union.) It has five work,
ohlc veins of the best Hiluniinouscoal, amount
ing in the aggregate to over 22 feet, which
makes 22.000 tons of coal under each acre,
will make the lar-d of inesli ninhlo value.
The eminent geologist Dr. Chas. T. Jackson
of iioston.has made a geological survey of (he
land, and analyaed the coal, the iron oro and
limeatone. This report together with maps
will be furnished to inquirers.
FocnvH—Tliree Railroads are laid out thro'
this property. The Nunburv and Eno Kuilroad
gives us a market for our coal to tho lakes—it
runs from Erie to Philadelphia. A largo part
of the Road has been finished, and is now in
tunning order. A heovy forco is now working
from Erio towards our land in the wostern di
rection, the means for the completion of which
haa been rui-el, it will soon ho fiuishod. The
Allegheny Valley '.Railroad connects as with
New York, lioslon and Pittsburg. The Ve
nango Road connects us with the West.
Thcio nto already good Turnpiko Roads
running through this property, various other
roads have been opened to nccommodato the
rtnrgralion ami settlement which has alicady
taken place.
There is no opportunity equal to it now of
fcird to the man who wants to provido himself
a home in on easy way, and make a settlement
where ho can live in prosperity and indepund |
euro in a climate Pcrfcc'ly Healthy.
No cose of Irver ever having been known to
occur in this settlement. It is not like going
to the Imckwonds of tho West, among perhaps
ialolerant people, whero Ihcro is no society,
churches, or schools, where the price of land is
high, and whero tho cmigruitt, after being used j
to the healthiest climate in the world, lias to ,
endure sickness and pain, and perhaps ruins
his health and that of his family. Hut here is |
a thiiving tctllement having llncc towns, con- i
taining churches, sohools, hotels, stores saw- !
milis, grist mills, and everything desired. There j
isa ru.-h market at hand. The lumber trade
last yoor amcunlcd to ovoi two hundred million ,
feet rf lun her. In a short time, owing to the |
coal.it will become still more vnluablo ns a.
number of iron works und manufactories will :
soon bo slutted; they are at present starting
them extensively at Warren. Even for those |
who do not wish to go there, the payments
nre such that they can easily buy a farm to
save their rising families front want in the
future, or to gain a competence by the riso
which will take placo in the value of lards.
By.HU outlay scarcely missed, a substantial
provision can bo made.
