CONSUMPTION, AND ALL DISEASES OK THE LUNGS aid THTCAT are positively curable by inhalation, which couveya the remedies to the cavities in the lungs through the air pas sages, end coining in direct contact with the disease, neutralizes the tubercular matter, allays the cough, causes a free and easy ex pecloralion, heals the lungs, purifies the blood, imparls renewed vitality to the nervous sys tem, giving that lone and energy so indis pensable for the restorative of health. To be able to state confidently that Consumption is curable by inhalation, is- lo tne a source ol unalloyed pleasure, his as much under the control of medical tiealniem as any other formidable disease; ninety 001 of every hun dred rases can be cured in Ihe first stapes, and fifty per cent, in (lie second; but in the third stage it is impossible lo save more than five per cent., for the lungs are so cut up by the disease as to bid defiance lo medical skill. Even, however, in the last stages, in halation affords extraordinary relief lo the (offering attending this teat ful scourge, which annually destroys ninety livu thousand per sons in the United Slates alone; and a correct calculation shows that out of the present pop ulation of the earth, eighty millions are des tined lo fill the consumptive's grave Truly the quiver of death has no arrow so falul as Consumption. In all ages it has been the great enemy of life," for it spares neither age nor sex. hut sweeps off alike the brave, the beautiful, the graceful, and the gifted.— By tho help of that Supreme Being, from whom Cornell) every good ami perfect gift, I am enabled to oiler lo the afflcted o perma nent aud speedy cure in Consumption. The first cause of tubercles is from impure blood, and the immediate effect, produced by their disposition iu the lungs, is to prevent the free admission of air into the air cells, which causes a weakened vitality through the entire system. Then surely it is more rational lo expect frea'er good from n.edij cines entering the cavities of Ihe lungs than from those administered through the stom ach; the patient will always find the lungs free and the breathing easy utter inhaling remedies. True, inhalation is a local remedy, nevertheless it acts constitutionally, and with tnoro power and certainty than rem edies administered by lite stomach. To prove the poweitul and direct influence ol this mode of administration, chloroform inhaled will entirely destroy sensibility in a lew min utes, paralyzing the entire nervous system, so that a limb tnaj bo amputated without the e'ighicsi pain; inhaling the ordinary burning gas will destroy lite it) a few hours. The inhalation of ammonia will muse tho system when laiiiiing or apparently dead.— Tho odor of many ol the medicines is per cepiible in the skin a lew minutes alter being inhaled, and ntay bo immediately delected in Ihe blood. A convincing proof of the constitutional effects ol inhalation, is the fact that sickness is always produced by breath ing foul air. Is not this positive evidence that proper remedies, carefully prepared and judiciously administered through the lungs, should produce the most happy results? Du ring eighteen years' practice, many thous ands, suffering from diseases of the lungs ar.d ihrotit, have been under my care, and 1 fiavo affected many retnurkable cures, even uftor Ihe sufferers had been pronounced in the last stages, which fully satisfies me that consumption is no longer a lutal disease.— My treatment of consumption is original, and founded on long e.vpetience and _a thorough investigation. My perlect acquaintance nidi the nature of tubercles, kc , enables me lo distinguish readily the various lorms of dis ease that simulate consumption, ami apply the propet temedies rarely being mistaken j even in a single case. This familiarity in connection with certain pathological and mi croscopic discoveries, enables inc to relieve the lungs from the effects ol contracted chests; to eulargo the chest, purity tho blood, impart to l renewed vitality, giving energy and voue lo the entire system. Rhodes' Fever and Ague Cure is this Antidote lo Malaria, and moreover it is a , perfectly harmless medicine. The certificate of the celebrated chemist, J. ' In illustration of these truths f annex seme ' extracts from a letter just received from a 1 Physician: Georgetown, Ohio, March 17, '56. JAS. A. RHODES, Esq.—Dear Sir: Yours of j 2d inst. is at hand. The Cure arrived late last year and the difficulty it) getting any one I lo try it was greatly increased from the fact that a remedy had been introduced which was growing in favor with the public, as be ing better than using Quinine, —not knowing I presume that the rerneJy they needed lo escape taking Quinine, contained the DRUG ITSELF! This remedy, (knowi as "Smith's Tonic,") would invariably BRh.AK an ague, but it did not CURl'Lit, at;d it would often return with renewed vigor. The one circumstance I deemed in your favor, if I could institute a | test comparison between it und your CURE. The following is the result: . Three persons look your "Cure," all of which were cases of "Quotidian Intermit tent Fever," of many weeks standing. They hud tried Quinine, and other remedies, occa-. sionully missing n chill, but it was, (us in all such cases.; slowly wearing (hem out, and lu)ing tlto foundation of other and severer tnaludies. I did succeed in effecting a radi cal cure of all thrcb of these cases with your remedy, and they have not had a chill since. In all three of these cases the "Smith's Ton ic" had been used, and would, as before sta led, break the chill, but after a period or two hud elapsed it would return. I think there will be no difficulty now in giving to your "Cure" the vantage ground of uny other remedy now in use here. &c. &c. WILLIAM BUCKNER. M. I). RHODES' FEVER and AGUE CURE, or Antidote to Malaria, lite only harmless reme dy in existence, is ■qtial'y certain as a PRE VENTIVE, as a "CURE." Few ol those who give way to this pernicious practice are a- i ware ol the consequences, until they find i the nervous system shattered, feel strange I and unaccountable feelings, and vague fears i in the mind. The unfortunate tltus affeoted becomes fee- ■ ble, is unable to labor with acoustomed vig- . or, or to apply his mind to study; his step is tardy and weak, he is dull, irresolute, and I engages in his sport with less energy than usual. II he emanci|ate himself before the prao- I tice has done its worst, and enter matrimony, his murtiage is unlruilfnl, and his sense tells him that this'is caused by his early follies.— 1 These are considerations which should awn- 1 ken the attention of those similarly situated. ' MARRIAGE Requires the fulfillment of several conditions in order that it may be really the cause of mutual happiness. Could the veil which covers the urigin of domestic wretchedness bo raised, and its true source i.i every in stance disclosed—in how many could it be traced to physical disqualifications and their attendant disappointments! Apply then while it is yet time, in order to have your uiiMruug and relaxed organization rebraced, revivified ulid strengthened. REMEMBER, Ho who places himself under Dr. Kinkelin's treatment may religiously confide in his lion* or as a genteman, and rely upon the assur ance, that the secrets of Dr. K's patients will never be disclosed. Young man—let no false modesty deter you from making your case Known to one who, from education and respectability, can . befriend you. Too many think they will conceal the so- : cret in their own hearts, and cure ihomse Ives j Alas! how often is this a latal delusion, and how many a promising young man, who j might have been an ornament to society, has 1 faded from the earth. Striciutes of the uroilira are rapidly re- j moved by the application of a new thera- i peulical agent, used only by Dr. K. Weak- j ness and Constitutional Debility promptly cured, uud lull vigor restored, •'J am a man anil deem nothing which j relates to man foreign to my feeling!)." ■YOUTH AND MANHOOD j A Vigoi ous Life or a Pre mature Dei.th.
