disease, neutralize* the tubercular matter,
aH} the cough, caosee a free snd easy ex -
eectoraiion, heels the lungs, pur fie* the blood,
Imparts renewed vitality to the nervous sys
tem, giving that tone and energy so indis
pensable tor tbe restorative of health. To he
able to state confidently that Consumption is
-curable by inhalation, ia to me a source of
unalloyed pleasure. It ia a> much under the
control ol medical treatment aa any other
Immutable disease; ninety out of every hun
dred oases can be cured in the first stages, j
and fifty per cent, in the second; but io the j ,
third stage it ia impossible to savs more than | .
five per cent., for the lungs are to cut up by 1
the disease aa to bid defiance to medical t (
skill. Even, however, in the last stages, in- ,
halation affords extraordinary reliel to the
suffering attending this tearful scourge, which (
annually destroys ninety five thousand per- {
aunt in the United States alone; and a correct
calculation shows that out of the present pop
ulation of the earth, eighty millions are des
tined to fill the consumptive's grave.
Truly the quiver of death has no arrow so
fatal as Consumption, In all ages it has been
the great enemy ol life, for it spares nei her
age nor sex. but sweeps off alike the brave,
the beantiful, the graceful, arid the gifted.—
By the help of that Supreme Being, from
whom ratnetlr every good mil perfect gifr, I
am enabled to ofler to the afflcted a perma
nent and speedy cure in Consumption. The
flrsi osits* of tubomlaa is from impure
blood, and the immediate effect, produced
by their disposition in the lungs, is to prevent
ihe free admission of air into the air cells,
which causes a weakened vitality through
the entire system. Then surely it ia more
rational to expect greater good from rredi
cities entering the cavities of the lungs than
from those administered through the stom
ach; Ihe pntient will always find the longs
free and the brexthing easy after inhaling
remedies. True, inhalation is a local
remedy, nevertheless it acts constitutionally,
and with more power and certainty than rem- i
ediet administered by the stomach. To prove
the nowetlul and direct influence ol this
mode of administration, chloroform inhaled -
will entirely destroy sensibility in a lew min
ores, paralyzing the entire nervous sys'ern, so
Ihst a limb mat be amputated without the
a'ighicr-i pain; inhaling the ordinary burning
gas will destioy Ide iu a lew hours.
The inhalation of ammonia will muse the
system when fainting or apparently dead.—
The odor of many of the medicines is per
cepiible in the skin a few minutes after being
inhaled, and may be immediately detected
in the blood. A convincing proof of thr
constitutional effects ol inhalation, is the far
that sickness is always produced by breath
ing foul air. Is not this positive evidence
thai proper remedies, carelully prepared atnt
judiciously administered through the lungs,
should produce the innst trappy resithsl Ou
ting eighteen years' practice, manv thous
ands, suffering from diseases of ihe lungs
nr.d Ihront, have been under my care, and I
have affected many remarkable cures, even
alter the sufferers had been prnrtonncei) in
the last stages, which fully satisfies me thai
consumption is no longer a latal disease.—
My treatment of consumption is original, ami
founded oil long experience and a thorough
investigation. My perlect acquaintance will-,
the nature of tubercles, &c , enables me to
distinguish readily the various forms of ilis
ease that simulate consumption, and apply
ihe proper remedies rarely being mistaken
even in a single case. This familiarity in
connection with certain pathological urn' mi
ctoscnpic discoveries, enables me to relieve
the lanes from the effects of contracted chests;
to enlarge Ihe chest, purity the blood, impart
to it renewed vitality, giving energy and tone
to the enrire system.

TONICS WOrVT DO.
rjtHEY never did do more than give tempo

cause they don't touch the cause of thd dis
ease. The cause ol all ague and billious dis
eases is the atmospheric poison called Mias
ma or Malaria. Neutralize this poison by
its
Natural antidote.
and all diseases caused by it disappears at
once. Rhodes' Fever and Ague Cure is this
Antidote in Malaria, and moreover it is a
perfectly harmless medicine. The certificate
of the celebrated chemist. J. 11. Chilton, of
New Yotk, to this effect, is attached to every
bottle; therefore if it dues no good it cue do
no harm.
This is more than can bo said of Quinine,
Arsenic, or any tonic in existence, as their
u-e ia ruinous to the constitution and brings
on DUMB AGUE, which never allows a per
son to feel perlectly well for a single moment.
In illustration of these truths I annex Home
extracts Irom a letter just received from a
Pitvsician:
Georgetown, Ohio, March 17, '56.
Jxs. A. RHODKS, Eq.—Dear Sir: Yours of
2d ittst. is at hand. The Cure arrived late
last year and the difficuliy in getting any one
to try it was greatly increased from the fact
that a remedy had been introduced which
wan growing in favor with the public, as be
ing belter than using Quinine, —not knowing
I presume that the remedy they needed to
escape taking Quinine, contained the DRUG
ITSELF!
This remedy, (knc-- ia "Smith's Tonic,") '
woul.l invariul>ly BRc.AK an ague, but it did
nut CURE it, and 11 would often reiuin with
renewed vigor. The one circumstance I
deemed in your favor, if I could institute a
teel comparison between it and your CURE.
The following is the result:
Three persons look ynur "Cure," all of
which were esses of ' Quotidian lmermil
ienl Fever," ol many weeks standing. They
had tried Quinine, and other remedies, occa
sionally missing a chill, but it was, (as hi all
such cases.; slowly wearing them out, and
laying the foundation of other and severer
maladies. I did succeed in effecting a radi
cal cure of all three of these cases with your
remedy, and they tiave riot tiad a chill since.
In all ihree of ihese cases the "Smith's Ton
ic" had been used, and would, as before sta
ted, break tbe chill, but afier a period or two
had elapsed it would return.
1 ihink ihere will be no difficulty now in
giving to your •'Cure" the vantage ground of
any other remedy now in use here. &c. &c.
WILLIAM BUCKNEII, M. I).
RHODES' FEVER and AGUE CURE, or
Afitulole to Malaria, the only harmless reme
dy in existence, is eqnul'y certain as a PRE
VENTIVE, as a "CURE." Taka it when
| yon leel the chill coming on, and you will
never hare a single one

TWENTY YEARS' EXPERIENCE
In the treatment of a clara of diaeeres hilb J
erto neglected and imperfectly understood, 1
has enabled Dr. KINKELIN, Author of a M
work on Self Preoerva'ion, to prove hat nine- 4
tenths of the cauaea of nervous debility, lo- V
cal and constitutional weakness, marital and
phyaicnl anffering, are traceable to certain I
i habile, forming lite moat secret yet deadly A
j and fatal springs of domestic misery and 1
premature mortality. "
TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE. '
j There is an evil habit sometimes indulged
in by boys, in solitude, and which, if not re-
J formed in due time, not only begets serioua
| obstarles to matrimonial happiness, but givea
I rise to a series of protracted, insidious, and
devastating affliction". Few ol tnose who
' give way to ibis pernicious practice ate a
waro ot the consequences, nntil lhay find
the nervous system shattered, feel strange
and unaccountable feelings, and vague fears
I in the mind.
| The unfortunate thus affected becomes fee
ble, ia unable to labor with accustomed vig
or, or to apply his mind is study; his step la
tardy and weak, he ia dull, irresolute, and
engages in his apart with leas energy than
usual.
II he emanciyate himself before the praa
lice has done its worst, and enter matrimony,
his marriage is unfruitfnl, and his sense telle
him that this is caused by bis early follies.—
These are considerations which should awa
ken the attention of those similarly situalad.
MARRIAGE
Requires the fulfillment of several condition#
in order that it may be really the cause of
mutual happiness. Could the veil which
covers the origin of domestic wretchedness
be raised, and its true source ia every in
stance disclosed—in how many could il be
traced to physical disqualifications and their
attendant disappointments! Apply then while
it ia yet time, in order lo have your unstrung
and relaxed organization rebraced, revivified
and strengthened.
REMEMBER.
He who places himself under Dr. Kinkalia'a
treatment may religiously confide in his hon
or as a genteniau, and rely upon the assur
ance, that the secrets of Dr. K'* patieuta will
never be disclosed.
Young man—let no false modeety deter

Alas! how often Is lltir a latal delusion, and
how many a promising young man, who
might have been an ornament lo eociety, baa
