Jxs. A. RHODES, K-q. Dear Sir: Vonrs ol 2d insl. is at hand. The Cure arrived late last year and the difficulty in getting any one to try it was greatly increased from the fact that a remedy had been introduced which was growing in favor with the public, as be ing better that) using Quinine, —not knowing I presume that the remedy they neetled lo escape taking Quinine, contained lite DRUG ITSELF! • This remedy,(knt ■ is "Smith's Tonic,") would invariably BRf.AK an ngtio, but it did not CURE it, ai.d it would of'eu return with renewed vigor. The one circumstance I deemed in your favor, if I could institute a lest comparison between it and your CURE. The following is the result: Three persons look your ,: Cure," all of which were esses of ' Quotidian Intermit tent Fever," of many weeks standing. They had tried Quittiue, and other remedies, occa sionally missing a chill, bot it was, (us in all such cases,; slowly wearing them oat, and laying the foundation of other and severer maladies. I did succeed in effecting u radi cal cure of all three of these cases with your remedy, and they have nut had a chill since. In all three of these cases the "Smith's Ton ic" had been used, and would, as before sta ted, break the chill, but after a period or two had elapsed it would return. In these fires, the HERRING'S SAFE, i standing side by side with those advertised as "warranted to stand 10 par cent, more fire than Herring's," came forth the acknowledg ed victor, not only preserving their contents in excellent order, but being themselves in a condition to go through another ordeal, while the boasteJ "Salemandera" of o'her makers were badly used up in every instance, and in somecasesibeir entire content* completely destroyed.
