to the National Cemetery at Gettysburg,
for tho interment of the gallant dead who

About fourteen acres of land fronting on
the Baltimore Turnpike,bctween the Ever-,
green Ccmetry and Captain Mycr'd or
chard, and extending to tho Taneytown
road, embracing the highest point on the
Cemetery Hill, havo been purchased by tho
Stato of Pennsylvania. Other States
havo been invited to co-operate in tho re
moval of the soldier dead lo these grounds
Tho arrangements for plotting tho grounds
preparatory to tho removal of the dead,
aro being as rapidly as possible. It will
be decorated as such a spot should be, and
will be tho point of many a pilgrimage by
the friends of tho gallant dead, to cast a
flower and shed a tear over their loved
