Dispatch," "Pittsburg Chronicle1" ''Blair
County Whig," Gen Cameron and Alex
ander Cummings.
The peoplo will execute him, politically
on the 13th of October next, between tho
hours of 8 A M. and 7 P. M.
An Election in Illinois. Tho char
ter election in tho city of Alton oomo off
on tho 8th, Tho Democratic majority for
Mayor (Levi Davis,) was sixty six, and
for Register, agaiust whom tho "Union
League, niado a fight, three hundred and
twouty. Alderman, seven Democrats and
five Republicans. This is a great success,
for tho Uuion Leaguo was thoroughly or
ganized, and boasted, before tho election,
that they numbered in their ranks over
half tho legal voters in tho city. In 1800
Alton gavo two hundred and seventy-eight
mi'ljority for Lincoln. Will Pee John
place this along side of the Wilmington
election.
