Michigan Produce. Tho schrs. Favor
ite, Dolphin and Whig cleared from this

'000 bushels of wlicdt and several hundred
barrels of flour, all the product of Michigan,
and bound for eastern market. This is but
the business of four days; our forwarding
merchants are daily shipping flour by steam
boats. It is a low estioiato to say that 10,
000 barrels of flout and 50,000 bushels of
wheat will be shipped from this placo this
fall. This will materially affect tho credit
of Michigan, and help very much to facili
tate exchanges; ,'

AYe are also informed by persons arrived
by the Louisa Adelaide, tfidt no French
vessel of .war had been scoif off Tampico
during the last six weeks.
Synodof Arcw Jersey We understand
that the Synod of New Jersey at its late
meeting in Morristown, by a vote of 100
to 80 adopted a preamble and resolution,
recognizing tho Gciieral ' assembly of
which Dr. Plumer was moderator, as the
true General Assembly of the Presbyterian
Chinch. Tho Neyark Presbytery was
not exactly cut off, but a resolution adopted
making its standing depend on its choice
of commissioners to the General Assembly.

The Mulberry Mania, or 'the fever , for
speculating in the Marus Multicaulis appears
.to bo increaseing all over the country. We
hear of the intention ofinany to enter into
this cultivation, induced we fear by the
large profits that. havo beeii derived from
the sale of slips; would it not bo more pru
dent to confine their arrangements and cal
culations, to tho feeding of the ivorms, and
production of silk. Tho Budks county
(Pa.) Intelligencer, says that pie hundred
pounds of tho foliage of the mulberry upon
which tho worms arc fed, will make one
pottnd of silk and fuurtcen thousand cut
tipg3 oi the Chinese mulberry will grow
upon an. acre of land, yielding at the second
year's growth, two pounds altogether,
which wjllgivo two hundred and eighty
pounds of silk, which, atSl per pound, will
amount to $1,120, and deducting $300 for
