HANOVER, Pa., Feb. 16, 1859.
Dear Sirs:—having realized in my family im

preparation—WlSTAß'S BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY
-it affords me pleasure to recommend it to the
public. Some eight years ago one of my daugh

her recovery were entertained. I then procured
.11, bottle of your excellent Balsam, arttl before she
had taken the whole of the contents of the bottle
there was a great improvement in her health.
have, in my own individual case, made frequen

Frem Jessie Smith, Esq.,
President of the Morris County Bank, Morristown,

"Having used DR. WISTAR'S BALSAM OF WILD
CHERRY for about fifteen years, and having re
alized its beneficial results in my family, it affords
me great pleasure in iecommending it to the pub

colds, coughs, &c., and a remedy which I consider
to be , entirely innocent, and may be tb.ken with
perfectsafety by the most delicate in health,"
From Hon. John E. Smith,
A istinguished Lawyer in Westminster; Md.
I have on several occasions used DR. WISTAR'S
BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY for severe colds, and
always with decided benefit. I. know of no pre

of general use.
The Balsam has also been used with excellent
effect by J. B. ELLIOT, Merchant, Hall's Cross

DR. VELPAU'S FRENCH PILLS ,
Ladies, Take Particular Notice.
THE REAL VELPAU FEMALE PILL.
[WARRANTED FRENCH.]
THESE PILLS, so celebrated many years ago
in Paris'for the relief of female irregularities,
and afterward so notorious for their criminal em
ployment in the piactice of abortion, are now of.
fered for sale for the first time in America. They
have been kept in comparative obscurity from the
fact:that the originator, Dr. Velpau, is a physci
cian in Paris of great wealth and strict conscien
tious principles,
and has withheld them from gen
eral use, lest they should be employed for unlaw
ful purposes. In overcoming Female Obstructions;
Falling of the' Womb, Whites, Green Sickness,'
Suppression, Retention, or Immoderate Flow of;
the Monthly, Discharges, they seem to be truly]
omnipotent, bursting open the 'flood-gates from
whatever cause may have stopped them ; but they
are offered to the public only for legitimate uses,
a nd all agents are forbidden to sell them when it'
is underetood that the object is unlawful. Mar-1
ried ladies should never take them when there,
is any reason to believe themselves pregnant, for
they will be sure to produce a miscarriage.
These pills are entirely safe under all circum
stances, being composed entirely of substances
from the vegetable kingdom.
Each box has the coat of arms for the City of
Paris stamped on the box, with the Ixords " Trade l
Mark " in French, to counterfeit which is a mis
demeanor, and all persons will be dealt with ac
cording to law.
A 14- Full directions accompany every box.
Ladies can obtain a box sealed from the eyes
of the curious, by enclosing One Dollar and six
post-office stamps to any respectable druggists, or

The celebrated author in this admirable essay
clearly demonstrates, from a thirty years' success-I

dangerous use of internal medicine or the applica-I

F G REAT DISCOVERY
KUNKEL'S
Bitter Wine of Iron.
For the cure of weak stomachs, general debility,
indigestion, diseases of the nervous system, conH
/ stipation, acidity of the stomach, and for all cases
requiring a tonic.
This wine includes the most agreeable and effi
cient Salt of Iron we possess; Citrate of Magn4t
ic Oxide combined, and the most energetic of veg
etable tonics, Yellow Perubian Bark. The effect,
in many cases of debility, loss of appetite, and,
general prostration, of an efficient Salt of Iron,'
combined with our valuable Nerve Tonic, is most
happy. It augments the appetite, raises the'
pulse, takes off muscular flabbiness, removes the;
palor of debility, and gives a florid vigor to the
,countenance.
Do you want something to strengthen you?
Do you want a good appetite ?
Do you want to build up your constitution?
Do you want to feel well?
Do you want to get rid of nervousness ?
Do you want energy?
Do you want to sleep well ?
Do you want a brisk and vigorous feeling ?
If you do, try
KUNKEL'S BITTER WINE OF IRON!
This truly valuable Tonic has been so thor
ioughly tested by all classes of the community that'
;it is now deemed indispensable as a Tonic medi- 1
( tine. It costs but little, purifies the blood, and
gives tone to the stomach, renovates the system'
'and prolongs life. I now only ask a trial of this
:valuable tonic.
COUNTERFEITS
Be Aware of Counterfeits.—As Kunkel's Bitter!
`Wine of Iron is the only sure and effectual rem-'
:edy in the known world for Dyspepsia and Debil
ity,L and as there are a numbers of imitations of
[fered to the public, we would caution the commu
nity,
' to purchase none but the genuine article,'
manufactured by S. A. KUNKEL, and has his
stamp on the top of the cork of every bottle. The;
very fact that others are attempting to imitate,
,this valuable remedy proves its worth and speaks,
[volumes in its favor.
The Bitter Wino of Iron is put up in 75 cent
and $1 bottles, and sold by all respectable drug-1
gists throughout the country. Be particular that
every bottle bears the fac simile of the proprietor's
signature.
