in some instances the tubers were diseased
when taken out of the ground : "Duet over
the floor of the bin with lime, and put in about
six or seveninches deep, of potatoes, and dust
with limo as before. Put in six or oven
indhes of potatoes and lime again repeat the
operation till all are stored away.—One bush

rather improving the flavor than otherwise.
How TO PURIFY RANCID LARD —We had
some 40 pounds of rancid lard Which was val
ueless AL it was. Knowing the antiseptic
quality . of the chloride of soda, I procured
'.three Ounces, which was poured into a pail
ful of soft water, and when hot the lard ad.

for inlrour or two it was set aside to cool.
