Aye Sarsaparilla
A Compound iemedy, in which we have la- "
bored to produce the most effectual alterative . •
that can Eh made. It is a concentrated extract
of Para Sarsaparilla, . so Combined With. other
substances of still greater alterative . pawer as
to afford an effective antidote for the diseases
Sarsaparilla is reputed to cure. It is believed
that such a remedy is wanted by those who
suffer from Strumous complaints, and that brie
which will accomplish their - cure must prove
of immense service to this large class of our
afflicted fellow-citizens. How completely this
compound will do it has been proven by expel.-
Intent on many of the worst eases to be fbund
of the following complaints --
SCROFULA. AND SCROFULOUS COMPLAINTS,
ERUPTIONS AND ERUPTIVE DISEASES, ULCERS,
PIMPLES, 'BLOTCHES, TUMORS, SALT RHEUM,
SCALD HEAD, SYPHILIS AND SYPHILITIC AF. ,
FICTIONS, MERCURIAL DISEASE, DRODSit, Nsus
RALGIA TIC DOULOGRIHIX, DEDILITY, rho-
FDPSIA AND INDIGESTION, ERYSIPELAS, ROBE
on ST. ANTHONY'S Finn, and indeed the whole
class of complaints arising from Durum or
TILE BLOOD.
This compound will be found a great pro
moter of health, when taken in the spring, to
expel the foul humors which fester in the
blood at that season of the year. By the time
ly expulsion of them many rankling disorders
are nipped in the bud. Multitudes can, by
the aid of this remedy, spare themselves from
the endurance of foul eruptions and ulcerous
sores, through which the system will strive to
rid itself of corruptions, if not assisted to do
this•thrOugh the natural channels of the body
by an alterative medicine. Cleanse out the
vitiated blood whenever you find its impurities
bursting through the skin in pimples, eruptions )
or sores ; cleanse it when you find it is ob
structed and sluggish in the veins ; cleanse it
whenever it is foul, and your feelings will tell
you when. Even where no particular disorder
is felt, people enjoy better health, and live
longer,
for cleansing the blood. Keep the
blood healthy, and all is well; but with this
pabulum of life disordered, there can be no
lasting health. • Sooner or later something
must go wrong, and the great machinery of
life is disordered or overthrown.
Sarsaparilla has, end deserves much, the
reputation, of accomplishing these ends. But
the world has been egregiously deceived by
preparations of it, partly because the drug
alone has not all the virtue that is claimed
for it, but more because many preparations,
,pretending to be concentrated extracts of it,
contain but little of the virtue of Sarsaparilla,
or any thing else.
During late years the public have been mis
led by large bottles, pretending to give ti quart
of Extract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. 'blest
of these have been frauds upon the sick, for
they not only contain little, if my, Sarsapa
rilla but often no curative properties whatev
er. ' Hence bitter and painful disappointment
has followed the use of the various extracts of
Sarsaparilla which flood the market, until the
name itself is justly despised, anti has become
synonymous with imposition and cheat. Still
we call this compound Sarsaparilla, and intend
to supply such a remedy as shall rescue the
name from the load of obloquy which rests
upon it. And we think we have ground for
believing 'it has virtues which are irresistible
by the ordinary run of the diseases it is intend
ed to cure. In order to secure their complete
eradication from the system, the remedy should
be judiciously taken according to directions on
the bottle.

STOMACH BITTE
The proprietors and manufacturers of HOS
TETTEWS CELEBRATED STCiMACII BIT
TERS can appeal with perfect confidence to
physicians and citizens-generally of the United
States, because the article has attained a repti
tation heretofore unknown, A few facts upon
this point will speak more powerfully than
*Aimee of bate assertion or blazoning puffery;
The consumption of llostetter's Stomach Bit
ters for the last year amounted to over a half
million bottles, and from its manifest steady
increase in times pnst, it is evident that duringg
the coming year the consumption will reach
near one million bet (les. This immense amount.
Could never.have been sold hut for the rare
medicinal properties contained in the prepnre•
and the snuction of the Most prominent
physicians ii those sections of tile country
where the article is heat known; who not only
recommend the Bittert3 to their patients, hot.
nro ready at all times to give testimonials to its
efficacy in ;ill cases of Stoninchic dernegetnents
and the diseases resulting therefrom.
This is not a teMporary popularity, °Maim,'
by extraordinary efforts in the way of 'trum
peting the qualities of the Bitters, but a solid
estiloalien of no Invaluable medicine, which is
destined to be as endurieg so time itself.
Host etter's Sloth:telt Bitters have proved
(loOsend to regions where fever nod ague
and varieus ()thee bilious complaints have
counted Omit. victims by hundreds. To be
able to store confidently that the "Bitters"
are a Cerfilill enre 1 . 01 1 the Dyspepsia mid
diseases, is to the proprietors a source of un
alloyed pleasure. It removes all morbid matter
from the tame:lett, purities the blood, and
imparts renewed vitality to the nervous system,
giving it that lone and energy indispensable
~,for the restoration of henit h. It opt rates upon
the stomach, liver, nod other digest ive organs,
Mildly but powerfully, 41111 soon restores them
o a Condition essent Mt tot he healthy discharge
of the functions of mime.
Elderly persons may use the Bitters daily as
per directions on the bottle, and they will find
in it a stimulant peculiarly adapted to comfort
declining, years, ns it is pleasant to the palate:
invigorating to the bowels, excellent to ft tonic,
and rejuvenating generally. We have the eri-.
denee of thooseuds of aged men and women
who Imre experienced the benefit of using this
preparation while statkring from stomach de
rangements and VlM'S!debilit y: acting under
tltc advice of physicians, they have abandoned
all deleterious Alrugs and fairly tested the
meeits of this article. A few words to the
gentler sex. There are certain periods when
their cares are so harassing that many of them
sink under the trial. The relation of mother
and child is so absorbingly tender, that the
mother, especially if she be young, is apt to
forget her own health in her extreme ,anxiety
for her infant. Should the period of maternity
arrive during the summer season, the wear of
body and mind is generally aggravated. Here,
then, is it necessity for a Blimulant to recupe
rate the energies of the system, and enable the
mother 10 bear up neder her exhausting trials
and reSponsibilities. Nursing mothers gene
rally prefer Om Bitters to all other invigora
tors that receive the endorsement of pitysl
clans, because it is agreeable to the Wile as
well as certain to give a permanent increase
of bodily strength.
All those persons, to whom we have
tarty referred above, to wit : sufferers from
fever and agn;', caused by malaria, diarrhoea,
dysentery, indigestion, loss of appetite, and
all diseases or derangements of the stomach,
superannuated invalids, persons of sedentary
occupation, and narking mothers, will consult
their own , physical welfare by giving to Hos
tetter's Celebrated Stomach Bitters a trial.
CAUTION.—We caution the public against
using any of the ninny imitations or counter
feits, but ask for HOSTETTER ' S CELEBRATED
STON/gll BITTERS, and see that each bottle has
the words "Dr. J. Ilostetter's Stomach Bitters"
blown on the side of the bottle, and stamped
on the metallic cap covering the cork, and
observe that our autograph signature is'on the
label.

Messrs. S. IV. FOWLT: & CO., BOSTON. Dear Sirs t
Having realized in my family important benefits from
the use of your valuable preparation, Wistar's Balsam
of Wild Cherry, affords me pleasure to recommend it
to the public. Some eight years ago one of my daughters
seemed to be in a decline; and little hopes of her recovery
were entertained.' I then procured a bottle of your ex
. cellent Balsam, and before she had taken the Whole of
the contents of the bottle there wan a great improvement
in her health. I have, in my individual case, made
frequent use of your vain able. medicine, and have always
been benefited by It. I would, however caution the public
a:joined intposiiictt, because there is a pad deal of spurious
Wistar's Balsam of . Wild Cherry afloat throughout the
country. JACOB SECHLER.
