On motion; the proceedings of last meet ing were read and adopted, . • The committee appointed at the last meet ing, to receive proposals (or a tract of land to be used ae a Fair ground, made report up on several pieces of ground, mentioning loca tion; situation, price, &c., one of which, that of I . l7rn_. Maddern was recommended by tke committee, as the most suitriblei for said pur pose. The report was on , motion adopted and the committee discharged. It was moved on motion, that a commit tee of three be appointed to purchase said ground. which was negatived. It was then Resolved, That the funds in the Treasu- Ca - heads be put on interest - for - one — year, which was agreed to. The Treasurer offered his report, show 4ng a balanee in his hands of $1,2231; which - was accepted *tad filed. On motion, it wns Resolved, That the Treasurer invest 81,200 upon interest on such security as the President and Secreta ry shall agree upon. The Cifmmittee or Corporation and By laws not being ready to report, was on mo tion continued with appointment of R. E. Wright, Esq., to a assist in their labors. On - motion Resolved, that the present of -kers be continued in offices another year from this (late, and that the election be dis pensed with. On motion Mr. Willoughby Gable, was appointed a Vice President, for the town ship of Lower Milford. There was admitted in the Cdmpany du ring the past year 300 new members, and 130 transfers and alteration of Policies ef fected, producing $1,229 17. Out of which was paid for incidental expenses $82737—, leaving $6Ol SO to be added to the balance in the Treasury, viz : $1,438 30—making a total of $2,010 10 bearing interest, besides about $660 out standing. The Company, now numbers 4500 members. form an ago gregate capital of Ten Millions of Dollars to levy upon, in case of loss by fire bayonet the amount of means in hand, all in the three adjoining counties of Burks, , Lehigh and. Lebanon.
