A Sussrtrurs NEEDED —A lady has been
drafted in Lewittoo, Maine. The enrolling
officer, in visiting a hoarding house, asked for
the list of names of the boarders. One of them
was Frances Parker, signed Frank Parker.
Frank was accordingly enrolled, and is now
drafted.
A woman named Fellows died at Salisbury,
New Hampshire. on the 17th lithium, in the one
hundred and first year of her age. A, Mre, East
man, the early playmate and life.-long compan
ion of the deceased, who was at the funeral, is
in the one hundred and second year of her age.
General S. E. Curtis has turned over to the
Quartermaster of the United States the camels
mat were imported to this country by order of
Mr. Jefferson Davis, when he was Secretary of
War nude: President Pierce. They have been
ordered to be sold at public auction.
HENRY WARD BEncusa, who arrived in Eng
land a few weeks ago, has left for the conti
nent- During his stay . in Earland Mr. Becher
has been repeated ly ibvitel to appear and
speak on public occasions ; be has, however,
persistently declined all solicitations of this
kind, on the ground that be left America in
order to recruit his strength for duty on his
return.
The great pia -hunter, the Baron -de Sevres,
is dead. Amongst the property he left were
found two large - and heavy boxes, which, by
the heirs, were supposed to contain cash, but
turned out to be filled with hundreds of thou
sands of all imaginable kinds of pins. For the
last twenty years his regular habit bad been to
pass along the most frequented streets and
lame or public resort, and to pick up any
pins he discovered on the grouniL

has represented that country so long and well,
and Mr. John Wood, of the British Civil Ser
vice in India, who made the acquaintance of
his bride in Germany, and where their troth
was plighted when they severally left their
places of education."
A Status OF STONEWALL —lt is understood
that the "distinguished" gentlemen who head
the movement for expressing in a suitable form
the admiration in England for the memory of
"Stonewall" Jackson, have nearly completed
their plans: A statue in marble, of heroic
sire, seven feet in height, by Foley, is to be
presented to Jackson's native State, (Virginia)

Be it resolved by the Senate and House of Re
presentatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylva
nia in General 4ssembly met, That the following
amendments be proposed to the Canstitution
of the Commonwealth, in aottordianee with this
provisions of the tenth article thereof:
There shall be en additional section to the
third article of the Constitution, to be designa
ted as section four, as follows:
Sccriox 4. Whenever any of the qualified
electors of this Commonwealth shall be in any
actual military service, under a requisition
irom the President of t he United 8441ec, or by
.he authority of this Commonwealth, such
electors may exercise the right of suffrage in
ell elections by the citizens, under such regu , -
lations as are, or shall be, prescribed by lit*,
as fully as if they were present at their usual
place of election.
There shall be two additional 13t0105 11 to the
eleventh article of the tionstiention, to be de
signated as sections eight and nine, is fol

SECTION 8. No bill shall be pissed by the
Legislature containing more than one subject, .
