the furnaces for about one dollar per ton. Limestone
in abundance, of good quality, on this property. The
extensive coal fields of the Broad Top and Alleghenies
are from forty to fifty miles distant, by Pennsylvania
railroad or canal, and the canal running through the
property makes it one of the best locations for the
manufacture of iron, either with coke or anthracite.
In addition to the charcoal, the buildings for the fur
nace and fa. m are ample. substantial, and in good repair.

ROAD.—This great line traverses the Northern
and Northwest counties of Pennsylvania to the city of
Erie, on Lake Erie.
It has been leased the Pennsylvania Rail Road
Company, and under their auspices is being rapidly
opened tbroughkint its entire length.
It is now in use for Passenger and Freight briefness
from .Hurrisburg to Driftwood, (Second Pork 2) (177
miles) on the Eastern Division, and from Sheffield to
Erie, (78 miles) on the Western Division.
