VENANGO COUNTY.—The branch line of the At lantic and Great Western railroad is completed from Meadville to Franklin. The first locomotive which ever entered the county was to make its ap pearanee on Saturday, May 27th. A company is being formed to erect a telegraph line from Franklin to Tyrone. Col. James K. Kerr, lately commanding the Fourth Pennsylvania cavalry, has resigned his commission on account of ill health. The Democracy of the county bold a 'grand mass meeting at Franklin, on Tuesday, Jane 9th. It will be addressed by Hon. William H. Witte, Hon. & A. Gilmore, and others. YORK Corwrv.—Mr. William Klinefelter, of -- Shrewsbury township, met with a severe accident a day or two since at the Northern Central rail road depot. It appears that whilst endeavoring to step from one of the cars on to the tender, he fell between them, the wheels passing over his right foot and hand, smashing them in a terrible mummer. But the most dangerous part injured was his head and jaw, the latter being completely STI/ 56 a to pieces. On Wednesday morning last Family Conley, an employee of the railroad company, received a se versi internal injury by falling heavily upru a pile of iron. Amos Underwood, of York, had his right foot painfully injured last Saturday by the wheels o f the Laurel fire engine passing over it. Miss Mary Smith, a daughter of Mr. William Smith, druggist, aged about nine years, met with a very serious accident by falling from the hay loft of Dr. Roland's stable, one day last week, whilst at play with some of her companions. Her injuries are about the head, and she still lies in a very precarious condition. Mr. Henry Mundell; a survivor of the noble band who marched to Baltimore from York in 1814, to repel the British invasion, died in that place 'on Friday last, aged 82 years.
