HOOFLANDPS GERMAN BITTERS
PREPARSD ONLY BY DR. C. M. JACKSON,
NO. 631 ARCH STREET, PHILADELPHIA.
Is the very best Tonic and Nervine extant, and will gir l
relief where all other remedies, fail. This is not a na-rt
assertion, but has been proved over and overagaio by t
class of persons we are now addressing, as the certineate q
hereto appended will slow. So well are the virtues o
the Bitters known, that it is freely prescribed by the
leading physicians of Philadelphia a^d vicinity. It it
entirely vegetable, and free from tileondie stimuittat aud
all injurious ingredients. Persons advanced in life 'and
feeling the hand of time weighing heavily upon there.
will find in these Bitters an elixir that will restore, in s
measure, the energy and ardor of more youthful days,
build up their shrunken forms, and give health and hap.
pima to their remaining years.
Weak and delicate children are made strong by using
the Bitters. In fact, it is a family medicine, and may
be profitably administered to a child of three- months,
the moat delicate female, or a man of ninety.
Shake the bottle before using.
Price 75 meats per bottle. lror sale by druggist] and
storekeepers generally throughout the country.,
From Bey. .7 Newton Brown, D. D., Ed i tor of Encyclo-
pedia of Religiotia Rno 7 wledge.
To Dr. C. M. Jackson.—Although not disposed to
favor or recommend Patent Medicine!' in general,
through distrust of their ingredients and effects, I yet
know of no sufficient reason why a man may net testify
to the benefit he believes himself to have received from
any simple preparation, in the hope that he may thus
contribute to the benefit of others.
I do this morereadily in regard to "Howland's German
Bitters," prepared by Dr. O. N. Jackson, of this city,
because I was prejudiced against them for years, under
the impression that they were chiefly an alcoholic mix
ture. lam indebted to ray friend, Robert Shoemaker,
Esq., for the removal of this prejudice by proper tests,
and for encouragement to try them when suffering fron:
great and long continued debility. The use 05 three
bottles of these Bitters, at the beginning of the present
year, was followed by evident relief and restoration to s
degree of bodily and mental vigor which I had net felt
for six months before, and had almost deb paired of re
gaining. I therefore thank God and my friend for di
recting me to the use of them.
