To Dr. 0. M. Jackson.—Although not disposed to
favor or, recommend Patent Medicines In general,
through diatrnat of millr ingredients apd elfsets, I yet
tatow of DO sufficient reason why a man may net testify
to the benefit he believes himself to have received from
any simple preparation, in the hope that he may throi
contribute to the benefit of others.
I do this more readily in regard to "Ifoollandls German
Bitters," prepared by Dr. 0. M. Jackson, of this ei.ty,
because I was projtiMeed against them for yeses under
the impression that they were chiefly an alcoholic mix.
ture. lam indebted to my friend, Robert Shoemaker,
Emq., for the removal of thin prejudice by proper tesk
and for encouragement to try them when suffering frot
great and long continued debility. The nee of tin%
bottles of those Bittern, at the beginningof the preett

degree of bodily and mental vigor which I had net fell
for six montherbefore, and had almost despaired of re.
gaining. I therefore thank God and any friend for 41.
recting me to the use of them.
