To Dr. 0. M. Jackson.—Although not disposFd to
favor or reeommend Patent Medicines in general,
through distract of their ingredientkaami effects, I yet
limpet of no sufficient reason Why a man may not testify
to the benefit he believeis himself to have received fix=
any simple preparation, in the hope that he may thus
contribute to the benefit of others.
I dothis more readily in regard to I'lloolisatra Geram
Bitters," prepared by Dr. 0..74. Jackson, of this city,
because I was prejudiced against them for years, under
the impression that they were chiefly an alcoholic mix
ture. Tam indebted to nay friend, Robert Shoemaker,
Esq., for the removal of thin prejudice by proper tests*
mid for encouragement to try - them when suffering from
great and long continued debility. The use of three
bottles of these Bitters,at the : be g innin g of the present
year, was followed' by evident relief and restoration he a
degree of bodily and mental vigor which I had net fat
for six months before, and had almost despaired of te
gaining. I therefore thank God and my friend for di
recting me to the use of them.
