1100FLANWS GERMAN p INTERS
PREPARSD ONLY BY DR. C. bi. JACKSON,
NO. 631 ARCH STREET, PHILADELPHIA,
Is the very best Tonic and Nervine extant, and will give
relief where all other remedies fail. This IS not ain -re
assertion, but has been proved over and over againl4l he
class of persons we are now addressing, as the certificates
hereto appended will ebow. So well are the 'virtues of
the Bitters known, that it is freely prescribed by the
leading physicians of Philadelphia vicinity. It is
entirely vegetable, and free/rem alconolie stimakat and
all injurious ingredients. Persons advanced in life `and
feeling the hand of time weighing heavily upon thine,
will find in these Bitters an elixir that will restore, in •
measure, the energy and ardor of more youthful dale,
build up their shrunken forms, and give health and hag.
pillow+ to their remaining years.
Weak and delicate children are made strong by using
the Bitters. In fact, it is a family medicine, and may
be profitably administered to a child of three months,
the most delicate female, or a man of ninety.
Shake the bottle before using.
Price '/6 cents per bottle. For sale by druggists and
scorekeepers generally throughout the country.,
From Rev. J Newton Brown, D. D., Editor of Encyclo
pedia of Religious Knowledge.
To Dr. 0. M. Jackson.—Although not disposed to
favor or recommend Patent Medicines in general,
through distrust of their ingredients and °fleets, I yet
know of no sufficient reason why a man may not testify
to the benefit he believes himself to have received from
any simple preparation, in the hope that he may thus
contribute to the benefit of others.
I I/0W.5 more reedily in regard to ..Hootland's German
Bitters," prepared by Dr. C. M. Jackson, of this city,
because I was prejudiced. against them. for years l under
the irupreteion that they were chiefly an alcoholic mix
ture. lam indebted to my Mend, Robert Shoemaker,
Req., for the removal of this prejudice by proper tests,
and for encouragement to tiy them when suffering from
great and long continued debility. The use of three
bottles of these Bitters, at the beginning of the present
year, was followed by evident relief and restoration to a
degree of bodily and mental vigor which I had net felt
for six months before, and had almost despaired of re
gaiecting ning. I there

single exception of rice, on which, I subsisted for font
sitars. I cannot pretend to describe my sufferings
Is almost with pain that my memory recurst o that r
rind. I should long since have been in my grace had
not my physician, Dr. Wolter% recommended the use of
your hitters, as the best Tonic with which he was ado-
quainted. I had tried a number of remedies without
success, but concluded to follow the nitride of my medi
cal adviser. I did so, and my most sanguine hopes were
realized. lam now well, and to your invaluable Bitters

Dn. JAmmos—Dens Sir: I have been frequently re
quested to connect my name with commendations of
different kinds of medicines, but regardingthe practice
as out of my appropriate sphere, I have in all cases
declined ; but with a clear proof in various instances,
and particularly in my own family, of the usefulness of
Dr. Efeolland's German Bitters, I depart for once from
my usual course, to express my fall conviction that, for
general debility of the system, and especially for Live r
Complaint,. it is a safe and valuabe preparation. In
some cases it may fail, but usually I doubt not it will be
vary beneficial to those 'who suffer from the above

BRANDY.
THE OHIO CATAWBA BRANDY has,. for several
years, been manufactured from the pure juice of the
AMERICAN CATAWBA and ISABELLA GRAPE-, and
has attained a rare popularity throughout the West and
South, where great quantities of this superb article is
sold for MEDICINAL and FAMILY purposes. It not
only equals, but excels ..the most choice IMPORTED
BRANDIES in PURITY, QUALITY and RICHNESS OF
FLAVOR, and wherever it has been introduced it had
invariably met the most unqualified favor and extended
sale.
The want of really pure Brandy has long been felt in
this country, and the opportunity to procure an article
of such quality as to supercede the sale and use of the
many vide compounds so often sold under the name of
ic Brandy, ,, can be regarded only as a public good.
L. LYON'S CATAWBA BRANDY possesses all the
choice qualities of the best imported liquor ,
and is posi
