Head aches may be classified under two names, viz : Symptoma tic and Idiopathic. Symptomatic T leadaehe is exceedingly cemmonand ;s the precursor of a great variety of diseases, among which are Apoplexy, Gout, Rheumatism and all febrile diseases. In its nervous form it is sympathetic of dinars of the stomach constituting sick headache, of he patic disease constituting bilious headache, of worms, constipation ant other dismeders of the bowels, as well as renal and uterine lifections. Diseases of the heart are very frequently attended with Headaches; Anaemia and plethora are also affections which frequently occasion headache.-- Idiopathic Headache is also very common, being usually distinguished by the name of nervous headache, sometimes coming on suddenly in a State of apparently sound health and pros ;ratamg at once the mental and physical energies, and in oth±r instances it comes en slowly, heralded by de pression of spirits or acerbity of temper. In most luster' ces the pain is in the front of the head, over one or both eyes, and sometimes provf•king vomiting; under this class may also be named Nguregue. For the treatment of either class of Headache the Ce phalic Pills have been found a sure and safe remedy, relie ving the most acute pains in a few minutes, and by its subtle power eradicating the diseases of which Reed:lathe is the unerring index. Constipation or Costiveness, No one of the ttniany ills flesh is heir to' , is so prevalent, so little Mideratocd, and so much neglected as Co.tiveceas. Often originating in carelessness or sedentary habits; it is regarded as a slight disorder of too little consequence to excite anxiety, while in reality it is the precursor and companion of many or the most fatal and dangerous &c -eases, and unless early eradicated it will bring the tufrerer to an untimely grave. Among the lighter evils of which co:Alyea* as is tie usual attendant are Headache, Colic, Rheumatism, Foul Breath, Piles and others of l he nature, while a long train of fr Maul diseases such as Malignant Fevers, absents, Dysentery, Diarrhoea, Dyspepsia, Apo plexy, Bpilepay, Paralysis, Hysteria, HypoehondriasiS, Melancholy and Ins.mity t Brat indicate their presence in the system by this alarms. symptom. Not umrequently the diseasea named orgicate in Constipation, but take on an independent existence unless the cause is eradicated in an early stage From all these considerations it fellows that the disorder should receive immediate attentioa when ever it occurs, and no person should neglect to get a box of Cephalic Pills on the first Appearance of the complaint, as their timely ri , e will expel the insidious approaches cf disease and destroy this deutterous foe to human life. THE ONLY DISCOVERY WORTHY OF ANY CONFIDENCE FOR RESTORING THE BALD AND GRAY. Many, since the great discovery of Prof. Wood, have attempted not only to imitate his restorative, but pro fess to have discovered something that would produce results identical; but they have all come and gone be ing carried away by the wonderful results of Professor Wood's preparation, and have been forced to leave the field to its resistless sway. Read the following: BATH, Maine, April 18,1859. Poor. 0. J. WOOD & CO. Gents :—Tho letter I wrote you in 1856 concerning your valuable Heir Restorat;ve, and which you have published in this vicinity and else where, has given rise to numerous enquiries touching the facts in the case. The enquiries are, first, is it a fact of my habitation and name, as stated in the Corn- Munication ; Second, is it true of all therein contained; third, does my hair still continue to be in good order and of natural color'? To a!1 I can and do answer invariably yes. My hair is even better than in any stage of my life for 40 years past, more soft, thrifty, and better colored; the same is true of my whiskers, and the only cause wby it is not generally time, is that the substance is washed off by frequent ablution of the face, when if care were used by wiping the face in close connection with the whiskers, the same result will follow as the hair. I have been in the receipt of &great number of letters from all parts of New England, asking me if my hair still continues to be good ; as there is so much fraud in the manufacture and sale of various compounds as well as this, it has, no doubt, been basely imitated, and been used, not only without any good effeci, but to absolute injury. I have not used any of your Restorative of any account for some months, and yet my hair ie es good as ever, and hundreds have examined it with surprise, as I am now 81 years old and not a gray hair in my head or on my face; and to prove this fact, I send you a lock of my hair ts.ken off the past week. I received your favor of two quart bottles last summer, for which I am very grateful; I gave it to my friends and thereby induced them to. try it; many were skeptical until after trial, and then purchased and used it with universal suet-es. I will ask as a favor, that you send me a test by which I can discover fraud in the Itestorative, sold by many, I fear, without authority from you. A pure article will insure success, and I believe where good effects do not follow, the failure is caused by the impure article, which curses the Inventor of the good. I deem it my duty, as heretofore, to keep you apprised of the continued effect on my hair, as I assure all who enquire of me of my un shaken opinion of Its valuable results. I remain, dear sirs, yours, A. C. RAYMOND. AARON'S RUN, Ky., Nov. 30, 1858. PROP. 0. J. WOOD: Dear Sir :—I would certainly be doing you a great injustice not to make known to the world, the wonderful as well as the unexpeeted result I have experienced from using ONE bottle of your Hair Restorative. After using every kind of Restoratives extant, but without success, and finding my head nearly destitute of hair, I was finally induced to try a bottle of your Hair Restorative. Now, candor and justice compel me to announce to whoever may read this, that I now possess a new and beautiful growth of hair, which I pronounce richer and handsomer than the original was. I will therefore take occasion to recommend this in valuable remet to ALL who may feel the necessity of it. Respectfully yours, REV. S. ALLEN BROOK. P. B —This testimonial of my approbation for your valuable medicine (as you are aware of) is unsolicited; but if you think it worthy of a place among the rest, insert if you wish; if not destroy and say nothing. AN apenent and StetMAIO preparation of IRON purl. fled of Oxygen and Carbon by combustion in Hydrogen. Sanctioned by the highest Medical Authorities, both in Europe and The United States, and prescribed in their practice. The experience of thousands daily proves that no pre paration of Iron can be compared with it. Impurities of the blood, depression of vital energy, pale and otherwise sickly complexions, indicate its necessity in almost every conceivable case. Inflexions in all maladies in which it has been tried, it has proved absolutely curative in each of the following complaints, viz: IN DEBILITY, NERYOUS AFFECTIONS, NIIACIATION, Dye- TEMA, CONSTIPATION, DIERREICKA, DTSBNTERY, INCIPIENT CONSUMPTION, Sonemmous TITEERCULONS, SALT SEEMS, MISERNSTRUATION, Warms ,thnicaosis. brvea mrrs, O intoNlo H EADAOUFS, BREUMATISN, INTERMITTENT FEVERS. PURPLES ON THE FACE, A.C. In cases t,f Otaxertat. DEBILITY, whether the result of acute disease, or of the continued diminution of nervous and muscular energy from chronic complaints, one trial of this restorative has proved successful to an extent which no descript ion or written attestation would render credible . Invalids so long bed , ridden as to have become forgotten in their own neighborhoods, have suddenly re-appeared in the busy world as it just returned from protracted travel in a distant land. Some very signal instances of this kind are attested cf female Sufferers, emaciated victims of apparent maiasmus, sanguineous exhaustion, critical changes, and that complication of nervous and dyspeptic aversion to air and exercise for which the physician has no name. In bisavons AFFECTIONS of all kinds, and for reasons familiar to medical men, the operation of this preparation of iron must necessarily be salutary, for, unlike the old oxides, it is vigorously tonic, without being exciting and overheating; and gently, regularly aperient, even in the most obstinate cases of costiveness, without ever being a gastric purgative, or inflicting a disagreeable sensation. It is this latter property, among others, which makes it so remarkably effectual and permanent a remedy for Piles, upon which it also appears to exert a distinct and opening action. by dispersing the local tendency which forma them. In DYSPEPSIA, innumerable as are its canoes, a single box of these Ohalybeate7 Pills has often sufficed for the most habitual cases, including the attendant Costiveness. In unchecked DIMMERS, even when advanced to Drams TENT, continued, emaciating, and apparently malignant the effects have been equally decisive and astonishing. In the local pains, lose of flesh and strength, debilitating cough, and remittent hectic, which generally indicate IN CIPIENT CONSUMPTION, this remedy has allayed the alarm of friends and physicians, in several very gratifying and interesting Instances. In SCROFULOUS Timm:moats, this medicated iron has had fir more than the good effect of the most cautiously balanced preparations of iodine, without any of their well known liabilities. . . The attention of fiimalescannot be too confidently invited to this remedy and restorative, in the cases peculiarly at fecting them. In Italeteseersm, both chronic and inflammatory—in the latter, however, more decidedly—it has been invariably well reported, both as alleviating pain and reducing the swel lenge and stiffness of the joints and muscles. In INTERMITTENT freezes it newt necessarily k e a great remedy and energetic restorative, and its progress in the new settlements of the West, will probably be one of high renown and usefulness. No remedy has ever been discovered in the whole history of medicine, which exerts such prompt, happy, and fully restorative effects. good appetite, complete digestion, rapid acquisition of strength, with an unusual disposition for active and cheerful exercise, immediately follow its use. Read the following from the New York Courier: ENORMOUS 89818883 rou 088 New V _ ORK MERCHART..... We are happy to inform our fellow-citizens that there is one place in our city where the physician, apothecary, and country merchant, can go and purchase pure Wines and Liquors, as pure as imported, and of the best quality. We do not intend to give an elaborate description of this merchant's extensive business, although it will well re pay any stranger or citizen to visit ijnoLrao WoLan's extensive warehouse, Nos. 18, 20 and 22, Beaver street, and Nos 17, 19 and 21, Marketfield street. His stock of Schnapps on hand ready for shipment could not have been less than thirty thousand cases; the Brandy, some ten thousand cases—Vintages of 186 to 1856; and ten thousand eases of Madeira, Sherry and Port Wines, Scotch and Irish Whisky, Jamaica and St. Croix Rum, some very old and equal to any in this country. He also had three large cellars, filled with Brandy, Wines, &c., in casks, under Custom-House key, ready for bottling: Mr. WoLre's sales of Schnapps last year amounted to one hundred and eighty thousand dozen, and we hope in less than two years ne may be equally succeed' with his Brandies and Wines. His business merits the patronage of every lover of his species. Private families who wish pare Wines and Liquors for medic.' use should send their cr tare direct to Mr WOLFS, until every Apothecary in the land make up their minds to discard the poisonous stuff from their shelves, and replace it with WoLos'a pure WINES and LIQUORS. We understand Mr. Wotan, for the accommodation of small dealers in the country, puts up assorted cases of Wines and Liquors. Such a man, and such a merchant, should be sustained against his tens of thousands of op. ponents in the United States, who sell nothing but imi tations, ruinous alike to human health and happiness. The attention of Invalids, Physician!, Olergyion scientific men, and the public generally, is respectfully solicited to the merits of this chemical preparation, c ot ; taining IRON, SULPHUR, AND PHOaP IIO ItOIIIB, ate which is identical faits composition with the !f anatic Giofrole, or red Wood. In all diseases accompioliod DEBILITY, pale countenance and nervous derangement, maim s of the blood show a deficiency of the red globules. R u d d , complexion and a rosy tint of the skin, is always indieZ. tive of health; while a pale, wax-like skin and come. nance,--which evinces a deficiency of the red glohnien, accompanies a diseased organism. Preparations of RON have been given for the purpose of supplying the red th• bales, but we contend that IRON alone, SULPHUR alone, or PHOSPHOROUS alone, will not meet the deficiency in every case, but that a judicious combinatio n of alt these elements is necessary to restore the blood to its normal standard. This point, never before attained, has been reached in the BLOOD FOOD, and its disc overy ranks as one of the most scientific and important of the age. Its effects in CONSUMPTION are to soften the cough, brace the nerves, etrengthen the system, ails., the prostrating night sweats, increase the physical and mental energy, enrich the blood by restoring the lacking red globules, increase the appetite, restore the color, and clothe the skeleton frame with Hash. The BLOOD FOOD will be found a specific in all CHRONIC DISEASES of the THROAT or LUNGS, such as Asthma, Bronchitis, Coughs, &c. Public speakers and singers will find it of great utility in clearing and strengthening the vocal organs. In Dyspepsia, Liver Complai n t, Dropsy, Epilepsy, Pargiusta, 6'crefuto Grand, St. Complaint , , ins , Dance, Fever and Ague, Ilco.,its efficiency is marked and instantaneous. In no class of diseases, however, are the beneficial effects of this remedy so conspicuous as ha those harrassing F.NMALM COMPLAINTS to which the gentler sex are liable, and which tend to. wards Consumption , such as suppressed or difficult Men struatioa. (treat Sickness, Whites, &c., especiall) when hese complaints are accompanied with paleness, a dines hue or pallor of the skin, depression of spirits, debility, palpitation., want of appetite, and nervous prostration. We have the utmost confidence in recommending the BLOOD FOOD to all who may be conscious of a low or vitality or energy; and to those whose mental or bodily powers are prostrated through over use, either of the mind or body, and we deem It our duty to say that In all Caere of Weakness and Bknaciatton, and in all diseasea of the Kidneys or Bladder, this preparation has a claim upon the attention of sufferers which cannot be over estimated. A faithful trial will be found the most con vincing proof in regard to its efficacy that could be asked for. With the above remarks, and with the numerate testimonials we have in its favor, we offer the "BLOOD FOOD , ' to the consideration of the afflicted, knowing that it will be acknowledged as pre-eminent over alt other preparations, patent or officinal, in point of usefulness, Circulars giving the Theory upon which this remedy is founded, also certificates of remarkable cures, will be sent free when desired. We forward the BLOOD FOOD to any part of the United States or Canadas upon receipt of price--$1 per bottle, $b for six bottles. Be careful in all cases to take none but that having our fac-simile sig. nature upon the wrapper. None other Is genuine.
