Head aches may be classified under two names, viz : Symptoma tic and Idiopathic. Symptomatic Headache is exceedingly common and is the precursor of a great variety of diseases, among which are Apoplexy, Gout, Rheumatism and all febrile diseases. In its nervous form it is sympathetic of disease of the stomach constituting stick headache, of he patic disease constituting caious headache, of worms, constipation ant other disorders of the bowels, as well as renal and uterine affections: Diseases of the heart are very frequently attended with Head aches; Anemia and plethora are also affections which frequently occasion headache.— Idiopathic Headache is also very common, being usually distinguished by the name of nervous headache, sometimes coming on suddenly in a State of apparently sound health and prostrating at once the mental and physical energies, and in othar instanres it comes on slowly, heralded by de pression of spirits or acerbity of temper. In moat inetau ces the pain is in the front of the bead, over one or both eyes, and sometimes provoking vomiting ; under this class may also be named Neuralgia. David Shelmire, William Rogers, J. K. Often originating in carelessness or sedentary habits ; it is regarded as is alight disorder of too little consequence to excite anxiety, while in reality it is the precursor and companion of many of the.most fatal and dangerous &s -eases, and unless early eradicated it wilt bring the sufferer to an untimely grave. Among the lighter evils of which costiveness is the usual, attendant are. Not unlreguently the diseases mimed originate in Constipation, but take on an independent existence anima the cause is eradicated in an early stage. From all these considerations it fellows that the disorder ahotild receive immediate attention when ever it occurs, and no person should neglect to get a box of Cephalic Pills on the first appearance of the complaint, as their timely use will expel the insidious approaches of disease anti destroy this dangerous foe to human life. THE ONLY DISCOVERY WORTHY OF ANY CONFIDENCE FOR RESTORING THE BALD AND GRAY. Many, since the great discovery of Prof. Wood, have attempted not only to imitate his restorative, but pro fees to have discovered something that would produce results identical; but they have all come and gone, be ing carried away by the wonderful results of Professor Wood's preparation, and have been forced to leave the field to its resistless sway. Read the following BATH, Maine, April 18, 1859. PROF. 0. Z. Worm & Co. : Gents:—The letter I wrote you in 1866 concerning your valuable Hair Restorative, and which you have published in this vicinity and else where, has given rise to numerous enquiries touching the facts in the case. The enquiries are, first, is it a fact of my habitation and name, as stated in the corn- I munication ; second, is it true of all therein contained; third, does my hair still continue to be in good order and .; of natural color? To all I can and do answer invariably yes. My hair is even better than in any stage of my life for 40 years past, more soft, thrifty, and better colored; the same is true of my whiskers, and the only cause why it is not generally true, is that the substance is washed off by frequent ablution of the face, when if care were .used by wiping the face in close connection with the whiskers, the same result will follow as the hair. I have been in the receipt of a great number of letters from all parts of New England, asking me if my hair still continues to be good ; as there is eo much fraud in the manufacture and sale of various compounds as well as this, it has , no doubt, been basely imitated, and been used, not only without any good effect, but to absolute injury. I have not used any of your Restorative of any account for some months, and yet my hair is as good as ever, and hundreds have examined it with surprise, as I am now 61 years old and not a gray hair in my head or on my face; and to prove this fact, I send you a lock of my hair tsken off the past week. I received your favor of two quart bottles last summer, for which I am very grateful I gave it to my friends and thereby induced them to try it ; many were skeptical until after trial, and then purchased and used it with universal success. I will ask as a favor i that you send me a test by which I can discover fraud in the Restorative, sold by many, I fear, without authority from you. A pure article will insure success, and I believe where good effects do not follow, the failure is caused by the impure article, which curses the inventor of the good. I deem it my duty, as heretofore, to keep you apprised of the continued effect on my hair, as I assure all who enquire of me of my un shaken opinion of its valuable results. I remain, dear sire, yours, A. C. RAYMOND. AARON'S RUN, Ky., Nov. 30, 1858. PROF. 0. J. Woon : Dear Sir :—I would certainly be doing you a great injustice not to make known to the world, the wonderful as well as the unexpected result I have experienced from using ONR bottle of your Hair Restorative. After using every kind of Restoratives extant, but without success, and finding my head nearly destitute of hair, I was finally induced to try a bottle of your Hair Restorative. Now, candor and justice compel me to announce to whoever may read this, that I now possess a new and beautiful growth of hair, which I pronounce richer and handsomer than the original was. I will therefore take occasion to recommend this in valuable remedy to ALL who may feel the necessity of it. Respectfully yours, REV. S. ALLEN BROCK. p. —This testimonial of my approbation for your valuable medicine (as you are aware of) is unsolicited; but if you think it worthy of a place among the rest, insert if you wish; if not destroy and say nothing. Sanctioned by the highest Medical Authorities, both in Europe and the United States, and prescribed in their practice • The experience of thousands daily proves that no pre paration of Iron can be compared with it. Impurities of the blood, depression of vital energy, pale and otherwise sickly complexions, indicate its necessity in almost every conceivable case. Innoxious in all maladies in which it has been tried, it has proved absolutely curative in each of the following complaints, via: IN DEBILITY, NERVOUS AFFECTIONS, EMACIATION, DYS PEPSIA, CONSTIPATION, Dianna:EA, DYSENTERY, INCIPIENT CONSUMPTION, SCROFULOUS TUBERCULOSIS, SALT RHEUM, Mr shearsreuenoe,Wmrse, 0111.0BOSIS. LeveaCmivmdirre, onacnno RIMMEATE3M,DITERMITTENTNEVERS, .PIMPLES ON Mg UM, &0. In cases 13f GENERAL DEBILITY, whether the result of acute disease or of the continued diminution of nervous and muscula r energy from chronic complaints, one trial of this restorative has proved successful to an extent which no description or written attestation would render credible. Invalids so long bed-ridden as to have become forgotten in their own neighborhoods, have suddenly re-appeared in the busy world as if just returned from protracted travel in a distant land. Some very signal . instances of this kind are attested of female Sufferers, emaciated victims of apparent manismus, sangaineons ex h austion , critical changes, and that complication of nervous and dyspeptic aversion to air and exercise for which the physician bas no name. In Nmivous AFFECTIONS of all kinds, and for reasons familiar to medical men, the operation of this preparation of iron must necessarily be salutary, for, unlike the old oxides, it is vigorously tonic, without being exciting and overheating; and gently, regularly aperient, even in the most obstinate cases of costiveness, without ever being a gastric purgative, or inflicting a disagreeable sensation. It is this latter property, among others, which makes it so remarkably effectual and permanent a remedy for Piles, upon which it also appears to exert a distinct and specific action. by dispersing the local tendency which forms them. In DISPRPsiA, innumerable as are itscauses, a single box of these Chalybeate Pills has often sufficed for the most habitual cases, including the attendant Costiveness. In unchecked Diessami, even when advanced to DraNN TREY, confirmed, emaciating, and apparently malignant the effects have been equally decisive and astonishing. In the local pains, loss of flesh and strength, debilitating cough, and remittent hectic,. which generally indicate IN CIPIENT CONSUMPTION, this remedy has allayed the alarm of friends and physicians, in several very gratifying and interesting instances. In SCROFULOUS Termite:moms, this medicated iron lies had far more than the good effect of the most cautiously balanced preparations or iodine, without any of their well known liabilities. re attention of females cannot be too confidently invited to this remedy and restorative, in the cases peculiarly of fecting them. In RHEUMATISM, both chronic and inflammatory—in the latter, however, more decidedly—it has been invariably well reported, both as alleviating pain and reducing the steel lsngs and stiffness of the joioifl and muscles. In INTERMITTENT SEVERE it mast necessarily lie great remedy and energetic restorative, and its progress a in the new settlements of the West, will probably be one of high renown and usefulness. No remedy has ever been discovered in the whole history of medicine, which exerts such prompt, happy, and tally restorative - effecte. I beg leave to call the attention of the citizens of the United States to the above Winne and ,Liquoas, im ported by UDOLPEO WOLFE; of New York, whose name is familiar in every. part of this country for the purity of his celebrated SCHIEDAM BOHAPPB. Mr. Womtif, in his letter to me, speaking of the purity of his Wilms and Lioncias, says : cc I will, stake my reputation as a man, my standing as a merchant of thirty yeara' resi dence in the City of New York, that all the BRANDY and WIRES which I bottle are pure as imported, and of the best quality, and can be relied upon by every purchaser." ENORMOUS BUSINESS .FOR ONE Nils YORE MERCHANT.... We are happy to inform our fellow-citizens that there is , one place in our city where the physician, apothecary, and country merchant, can go and purchase pure Wines and Liquors, as pure as imported,' and of the best quality. We do not intend to give an elaborate description of this merchant's extensive business, although it will well re pay any stranger or citizen to visit Unozerto WOLFE'S extensive warehouse, Nos. 18, 29 and 22, Beaver street, and Nos 17, 19 and 21, Marketfield street. His stock of Schnapps on hand ready for shipment could not have been less than thirty thousand cases; the Brandy, some ten thousand cases—Vintages of 11136 to 1856; and ten thousand cases of Madeira, Sherry and Port, Wines, Scotch and Irish Whisky, Jamaica and St. Croiir Rum, some very old and equal to any in this country.. He also had three large cellars, filled with Brandy, Wines, &c., in casks, under Custom-House key, ready for bottling. Mr. Wor-ra , a sales of Schnapps last year amounted to one hundred and eighty thousand dozen, and we hope in less than two years he may be equally anomie with his Brandies and Wines. . . His business merits the patronage of every lover of his species. Private families who wish pure Wines and Liquors for medical use should send their orders direct to Mr. WoLFE, until every Apothecary in the land make up their minds to discard the poisonous stuff from their shelves, and replace it with WOLFE'S pure WINES and LIQUORS. We understand Mr. WOLFE, for the accommodation of small dealers in the country, puts up assorted cases of Wines and Liquors. Such a man, and such a merchant, should be sustained against his tens of thousands of op ponents in the United States, who sell nothing but inn tations, ruinous alike to human health and happiness. In all diseases accompanied w ith DEBILITY, pale countenance and nervous derangement, analyses of 'am blood show a deficiency of the red globules.. Ruda, complexion and a rosy tint of the skin, i s always indica tive of health; while a pale, .wax -like skin and counts. nance,—which evinces a deficiency of the red globules, accompanies a diseased organism. Preparations of IRON have been given for the purpose of supplying the red glo bules, but we contend that IRON alone, SULPHUR alone, or PHOSPHOROUS alone, will not meet the deficiency in every case, but that a judicious combination of all these elements is necessary to restore the blood to Its normal standard. This point, never before attained, has been reached in the BLOOD FOOD, and its discovery ranks as one of the most scientific and important of the age. Its effects in 00 - NSIIIIPTION are to soften the cough, brace the nerves, strengthen the system, allay the prostrating night sweats, increase the physical and mental energy, enrich the blood by restoring the lacking red globules; increase the appetite, restore the color, and clothe the skeleton frame with flesh. The BLOOD FOOD will be found a specific in all CHRONIC DISEASES of the THROAT or LUNGS, ouch an Asthma, Bronchitis, Coughs, &c. Public speakers and singers will find it of great utility in clearing and strengthening the vocal organs. In Dyspepsia, Liver Complaints, Dropsy, Epilepsy; Paralysis, Scrofula. Gravel, St. vi: tags , Dance, Fetter and Ague, &e., Its efficiency marked and instantaneous. In no class of diseases, however, are the beneficial effects of this remedy so conspicuous slabs those harrassing FEMALE COMPLAINTS to which the gentler sex are liable, and which tend to. walls Consumption, such as suppressed or difficult MM. struation, Green Sickness, Whites, &c., especially wh eu hese complaints are accompanied with paleness, a dingy hue or pallor of the skin, depression of spirits, debility, palpitation, want of appetite, and nervous prostration, We have the utmost confidence in recommending the BLOOD FOOD to all who may be conscious of a loss of vitality or energy; and to those whose mental or bodily powers are prostrated through over use, either of the mind or body, and we deem it our duty to say that in all cases of Weakness and Emaciation, and in all diseases of the Kidneys or Bladder, this preparation has a claim upon the attention of sufferers which cannot be over estimated. A faithful trial will be found the most con. vincing proof in regard to its efficacy that could be asked for. With the above remarks, and with the numerous testimonials we have in its favor, we offer the "BLOOD FOOD" to the consideration of afflicted, knowing that it will be acknowledged as pre-eminent over all other preparations, patent or officinal, in point of usefulness. Circulars giving the Theory upon which this remedy is founded, also certificates of remarkable cures, will be sent free when desired.
