DYSPEPSIA, DYSPEPSIA, DYSPEPSIA.
I, ELIZABETH BRANSON, Of BMA:piVille
Del., formerly of Old Chester, Del., do certify
that, for one year and a half I suffered every
thing but death from that awful disease called
Dyspepsia. My whole system was prostrated
with weakness and nervous debility; I could
not digest my food; if I ate even a cracker or
the smallest amount of food, it would return
mst as I swallowed it; I became sq costive in
my bowels that I would not have a passage in
less than from four and often eight days; un
der this immense suffering, my mind seemed
entirely to give way. 1 had a dreadful horror
and evil forebodings. I thought everybody
hated me, and I hated everybody; I could not
bear my husband nor my own children, every
thing appeared to be horror-stricken to me;
I had no ambition to do anyth'ng; I lost all
my love of family and home; I would ramble
and *ander from place to place, but could not
be contented; I felt that I was doomed to
hell, and that there was no heaven for me,
and was often tempted to commit suicide,
so near 'wail my whole nervous system de
stroyed, and also my mind from that awful
complaint, Dyspepsia, that my-friends thought
best to have me placed in Dr. Kirkbride's
hospital, West Philadelphia; I remained
there nine weeks, and thought I was a little
better, but in a few days my dreadful corn
plaint was raging as bad as ever. Hearing of
the wonderful cures performed by Dr. Wis-.
hart's (+reat American Dyspepsia Pills and
his treatment for Dyspepsia, my husband.
called on Dr. Wishart and stated my ease to
him. He said he had no doubt he could cure
me. So in three days after I called and placed
myself under the Doctor's treatment, and in
two weeks I began to digest my food, and felt
that my i disease was fast giving way, and I
continued to recover for about three months,
and at the present time I enjoy perfect health
of body and mind, and I most sincerely return
my thanks to a merciful God and Dr. Wis
hart, and to his great American Dyspepsia
Pills and Pine Tree Tar Cordial teat saved me
from an Insane Asylum and premature grave.
All persons suffering with Dyspepsia are at
liberty to call on me or write, as I am willing
to do all the good I oeu for suffering hu
manity. RLIZA_BE'I'H BRANSON,

DYSPEPSIA! DYSPEPSIA I
Ds. Wienmer—l have been a constant , sufferer with
Dyspepsia for the last eighteen years, during which time
!cannot say I ever enjoyed a perfectly well day. There
were times when the symptoms were more aggravated
than at others, and then it seemed it would be a great re
lief to die. I had at all times an unpleasant feeling in my
head, but latterly my salbrings so much increased that
I became almost unlit for bm..etness of any kind; my mind
was continually filled with gloomy thoughts and fore
boding; and if I attempted to change their current by
reading, at once a sensation of ley coldness in connection
with a dead weight, as It were, rested upon my brain;
also, a feeling of sickness would occur et the stomach, and
great pain to ray eyes, accompanied with which was the
continual fear of losing my reason. I also experienced
great lassitude, debility and nervousness, which made it
difficult to walk by day or sleep at night. I became
averse to society, and disposed only to seclusion, and
having tried the Skin of a number of eminent physiciens
of various schools, filially came to theconelusion that, for
this dimes& at my present ago (4.5 years) there was no cure
in existence. But, through the interference of Divine
Providence, to whom I devoutly oiler my thanks, I at last
found a sovereign remedy in your Dyspepsia Pills and
Tar Cordial, which seem to have effectually removed al
=Oat the last trace of my long list of ailments and bad
feelings, and in their place health, pleasure and content
ment are my everyday companions.

- Philadelphia, January 22d, 18b3.
Dit. WiswaßT—Sir:—lt is with much pleasure that I
am now able toinl'orm you that, by the use of your great
American Dyspepsia Pills, I have been entirely oured of
that most distressing complaint, Dyspepsia. I had been
grieviousiy afflicted for the last twenty-eight years, and
fee ten years of that time have not been free from its
path one week at a time. I have had It in its worst form
and have dragged on a most miserable existence—in pain
day and night. Every kind of food that I ate filled me
with wind and pain, it mattered not how light, or how
small the quantity. A continued belching was sure to
follow I had no appetite for any kinds of meats what
ever and my distrers was so great for several months be
fore I heard of your Pills, that I frequently wished for
death. I had taken everything that I bad heard of for
Dyspepsia, without receiving any benefit; but on your
Pills being recommended to me by one who had been
cured by them, I concluded to give them a trial, although
I had no faith In them. To my astonishment, I found
myself getting better before I had taken onetourth of a
box, and after taking half a box, I am a well man, and
can eat anything I with , and enjoy a hearty me,ig three
times a day, without Inconvenience from anytbilk I eat
or drink. If you think proper, you are at liberty to make
this public and refer to me. I will cheerfully give all de
sirable information to any ono who may call on me

MEDICA.L,
Dr. Wishar's in the Philadelphia Ledger, of a great care
made upon Mr. John Babcock, of 1028 Olive street, Phila

Flap' of of Truce from the Rebels.
HEADQUAUTERS AWAY OF THE POTOMAC,
A flag of truce appeared yesterday in front
of the 2d division of the 2d corps, bearing a
dispatch addressed to Generals Gregg, Hum
phreys and Foster. The flag was brought by
a Captain, accompanied by a Ist, 2d and 3d
L'eutenants, and a Sergeant, all staff officers.
The dispatches were forwarded. Their nature
has not transpired, nor is it known what an
swer, if any, was returned.
Picket firing is still kept up in the vicinity
of Fort Sedgewiek, better known as Fort
Hell, but not so persistently as formerly
A member of the 39th New Jersey regiment
was shot through the head yesterday, while
sitting in his tent, situated a half mile in the
rear of our lines. Casualties occur there al
most daily.
The most positive orders have been issued
against any intercourse whatever with the
rebels, on any pretext whatever„ and particu
larly against exchanging newspapers, and the
men along the line have orders tooshoot any
one who attempts to pass outside the pickets.
From Tennessee.
Flag of Truce from General Hood.
An Exchange of Prisoners Asked
ATTACK ON BLOCKHOUSES REPULSED,
Six Guns and Some Prisoners Taken Front
the Rebels.
Very little of interest' transpired yesterday.
Artillery and skirmishing continued through
out the day. The daily routine was varied by
the reception of a flag of truce sent by Gen.
Hood, which was received by our pickets on
the Franklin pike at- about 11 A. Sr. The
bearer had the following letter from General
Hood:
HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT TENNESSEE AND
GEORGIA, IN THE FIELD, Dec. 5, 1864.—T0 the
Commanding Officer United States Forces,
Nashville, Tennessee.—H eneral: I have now
in my possession a large number of Federal
prisoners, captured during the recent. cam
paign, which I propose to exchange with you
tar an equal number of Confederate prisoners
belonging to thig army, in accordance with the
cartel used by Major General Sherman said
myself in the exchange of prisoners, which
took place in September last at Jonesboro',
Georgia.
Should you agree to this proposition an
officer on my staff will meet any one you may
designate upon the Franklin pike between the
lines of the two armies, to arrange the time,
place and other necessary details connected
with this exchange.
Very respectfully, your ob't. servant,
B. HOOD, General C. S. A.
To which request General Thomas sent the
following reply:
HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE CUM
BULLARD, DEC. s.—General. Hood, Command
ing Confederate forces on the Franklin Road
—General: I lave the honor to acknowledge
the receipt or your communication of this
date, making a proposition for the exchange
of prisoners of the army of the United States,
now in your possession, for a like number of
Confederate prisoners belonging to your army
in my hands.
In reply I have to state that although I have
had quite a large number of prisoners from
your army, they have all been sent North, and
are consequently now beyond my control. I
am, therefore, unable to make the exchange
proposed by you.
Very respectfully yours, etc.
GEORGE H. THOMAS,
Major-General Commanding.
Yesterday a body of rebels attacked block
houses Nos. six and seven, near Murfreesboro'.
They were gallantly fought by the garrison,
and soon a body of troops, sent by Milroy
from Murfreesboro', arrived, who attacked the
rebels with such effect that they were driven
off in confusion, leaving six guns and a num
ber of prisoners.
All sorts of rumors prevailed in the city
when the news got abroad that a flag of truce
had come in. The general supposition was
that Hood had demanded a surrender of the
city.
Generals Milroy and Rousseau are at Mur
freesboro', which is amply garrisoned and de
fended against any rebel force which may at
tack it.
MUSTARDS,
Matters at the front to-day are quieter than
usual. No artillery that can be seen has yet
been placed in position by the rebels. Hood's
headquarters are said to be at Blentwood, six
miles north of this city on the Franklin Pike.
XXXVIIITH Congress Second Session
WASHINGTON, Dec. 7.
Mr. Lane, of Indiana, introduced a bill to
authorize the holding of a special session of
the United States District Court of Indiana,
which was ordered to be laid upon , the table
until the announcement of the committee, and
then to be referred to the Judiciary Commit
tee.
Mr. Morrill (Maine) presented a bill to ex
tend the time for the I.,.,mpletion of the Met
ropolitan railroad of F o abigton city two years.
Ordered to be laid osi:the the table.
„ HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Mr. Blaine (Me.) said the House yesterday
referred to the Committee of Ways and Means
the bills of the gentleman from Pennsylvania
(Mr. Stevens) to prevent gold and silver coin
and bullion from being paid or accepted for a
greater value than their real current valve,
and for preventing any note or bill issued by
the United States from being received for a
smeller sum than is therein specided.
He moved to reconsider the motion of -ref
erence. In the twenty-tour hours since the
bill was introduced great mischief has been
done, and every day and hour this bill re
mained where it was still greater mischief
will result in raising the price of gold. It in

Mr. Cox (Ohio) did not agree with the gen
tleman that this bill put up the price of gold.
He rather thought the President had flayed the
:Bull by his Message.
Mr. Stevens, (Pa.,) in reply to Mr.' Blaine,
said the action he proposed had been exer
cised by the most distinguished statesmen
for several ages, and is at least worthy of'con
sideration. There ought to be some cheek
put to gambling, when gold was put to twice
and a half its value. This could not be pre
vented, unless by some legislation in F. oxiaa
way. It was just the legislation that Englan
adopted during the war with Napoleon. MO
moved to lay on the table the motion to re
consider the vote by which the bill was refer
red to the Committee of Ways and Means.
Mr. Stevens' motion was decided' in the
negative: yeas, 51, nays, 68.
The vote by which the bill was referred was
reconsidered : yeas 65, nays 41.
The question thus recurring on the ques
tion to refer the bill to the Committee of Ways
and Means,
Mr. Stevens moved to postpone its consid
eration for ten days.
Mr. Bialne moved to lay the bill on the
table. This was carried : yeas 73, nays 52.
