A HOME CERTIFICATE.
The following certificate is from a well-known citizen of
Harrisburg :
HARRISBURG, Aug. 30,18&1.
To TEL Primo :—lt gives me great pleasure to recom
mend to the public the medicine prepared by DR. J. J.
MeBRIDE, which he calls the "KING OF PPM" I was
induced to use it as an external remedy fora bruise, which
it relieved Immediately, and subsequently cured entirely.
he success induced me to use it internally for Diarrheas,
with which I was afflicted in a chronic form for nearly
eighteen months, and to such an extent that my kidneys
were seriously deranged. The medicine has cured me,
and certainly that is saying a great deal in its favor, when I
reflect how many other remedies I tried without experi
encing anything but temporary relief. For my part, I
shall always keep a supply of It In my house,. believing as
I do that it is a most invaluable family medicine.
The unaxampled sale of this medicine proves it to be
the moat wonderful discovery of the age in the medical
art:
The undorsigned are the sole agents for the State, and
will supply It wholesale and retail.

.ELIZABETH BRANSON, of Brandywine,
Del., formerly of Old Chester, Del., do certify
that, for one year and a half I suffered every
thing but death from that awful disease called
Dyspepsia. My whole system was prostrated
with weakness and nervous debility; I could
not digest my food; if 'I ate even a crackeir or
the smallest amount of food, it would re turn
just as I swallowed it; I became so costive in
my bowels that I would not have a passage in
less than from four and often eight days; un
der this immense suffering, my mind scemed
entirely to give way. I had a dreadful horror
and evil forebodings. I thought everybody
hated' me, and I hated everybody; I could not
bear my husband nor my own children, every
thing appeared to be horror-stricken to me;
I had no ambition to do anything; I lost all
my love of family and home; I would ramble
and wander from place to place, but could not
be contented; I felt that I was doomed to
hell, and that there was no heaven for me,
and was often tempted to commit suicide,
so near was my whole nervous system de
stroyed, and also my mind from that awful
complaint, Dyspepsia, that my friends thought
best to have me placed in Dr. Kirkbride's
hospital, West Philadelphia; I remained
there nine weeks, 'and thought I was a little
better, but in a few days my dreadful com
plaint was raging as bad as ay.... rfeeri t yr
the wonderful cures - performed by Dr. Wia
hart's Great American Dyspepsia Pills and
his treatment for Dyspepsia, my husband
called on Dr. Wishart and stated my case to
him. He said he had no doubt he could cure
me. So in three days after I called and placed
myself under the Doctor's treatment, and in
two weeks I began to digest my food, and felt
that my disease was fast giving way, and I
continued to recover for about three months,
and at the present time I enjoy perfect health
ofhody and mind, and I most sincerely return
My thanks to a merciful God and Dr. Wis
hart, and to his great American Dyspepsia
Pills and Pine Tree Tar Cordial that saved me
from,n Insane Asylum and premature grave.
All pllrsons suffering with Dyspepsia are at
liberty to call on me or write, as I am willing
to do all the good I can for suffering hu

DYSPEPSIA! DYSPEPSIA,!
Da. Wittasmr—l have' been a constant sufferer with
Dyspepsia for the last eighteen years, during which time
I cannot say I ever enjoyed a perfectly well day. There
were times when the symptoms were more aggravated
than at Others, and then it seemed it would be a great re
lief to die. I had at all times an unpleasant feeling in my
head, but latterly my sufferings so much increased that
I became almost unfitfor business of any kind; my mind
was continually tilled with gloomy thoughts and fore
bodings, and if I attempted to change their current by
reading, at once a sensation of icy coldness in connection
with a dead weight, as it were, rested upon my brain;
also, a feeling of sickness would occur at the stomach, and
great pain to my eyes, accompanied with which was the
continual fear of losing my reason. I also experienced
great lassitude, debility and nervousness, which made it
difficult to walk by day or sleep at . night. I became
averse to society, and disposed only to seclusion, and
having tried the skill of a number of eminent physicians
of various setipols,Anallyruusko the conclusion that, for
this disease at my present age (45 years) there was no cure
in existence. Rut, through the interference of Divine
Providence, to whom I devoutly offer my thanks, I at last
found a sovereign remedy in your Dyspepsia Pills and
Tar Cordial, which seem to have effectually removed al
most the last trace of my long list of ailments and bail
feelings, and is their place health, pleasure and content
ment are my everyday companions.

Do. Wisnakr—Sir:—lt is with much pleasure that I

American Dyspepsia Pills, I have been entirely cured of
that most distressing complaint, Dyspepsia. I bad been
grieviously afflicted for the last twenty-eight years, and
Porten years of that time have not been free from its
path one week at a time. I have had it in its worst form
and have dragged on a mostmiserable existence—in pain
day and night. Every.kind of food that I ate filled me
with wind and.pain, it mattered not how light, or how
small the quantity. A continued belching was sure to
follow. I had no appetite for any-kinds -of -meats what
ever and my distrers was so great for several moqthe be
fore I heard of your Pills, that I frequently wished for
death. I had taken everything that I bad heard of for
Dyspepsia, without receiving any benefit; but on your
Pills being recommended. to me by one who had been
cured by them, I concluded to give them a trial, although
I had no faith in them. To, my astonishment, I found
myself getting better before I had taken one-fourth of a
box, and after taking half abo I ern well .men, and

CAMP NEAR GADIESVILLE STATION, VA., t
October 28, 1864. 1
EDITOR TELEGRAPH —Dear Sir:—From ne
cessity, I must write you a rambling letter
this morning, instead of penning events in ro
tation, as they ought to appear. In your lo
cal column I observed a paragraph about
" rain " on Saturday last on market mo7ring.
Talk about rain I Last night the win
dows of heaven" were indeed opened in this
latitude, which made the sentinels on picket
think of Noah and the flood, a thousand years
and more ago. But it was needed here, and
the air is cool and bracing, with a "gentle
gou'-west wind" whistling in the tree-tops; and
the sun shedding lustre on everything around
our camp gratuitously.
The men were buky building winter quarters
all week, and all the various " models," de.
signs, shapes and styles would do credit to a
regular architect. Yet, judging from events
of the past few hours, I believe their labor will
be in vain—for some of the men on the con
struction train, informed us that the iron and
other material would be "taken up "as far
down the road as Manassas Junction, eastward
of "Thoroughfare Gap." Notwithstanding
said rumor, the forces at Colonel Awl's head
quarters are still busy erecting barricades--
probably to prevent a sudden attack from.
Mosby's thieves, who, it was rumored, at
tempted to flank our force on the extreme
right, on the afternoon or evening of Wednes
day last. A day or two, at farthest, how
ever will explain matters in this respect.
, In! running over the country to look after
matters of interest, many useful articles of
household and kitchen furniture are picked
up, which the boys readily convert into coffee
pots, pans, &c.—utensils greatly needed.--
Davy Thomas, my friend from Fairview, picked
up quite a decent looking coffee pot; and upon
examining it closely, found a sparrow's nest
within, containing four beautiful green eggs !
"She was a. patriotic bird," remarked Davy,
" for she wanted to rear a brood in'a Union
coffee-pot ! It is almost a sin to destroy the
nest, but I must have the pot!"—and that
word must with a true soldier means something
—so the nest was aus-ga-speilt!
The hospital patients, under the admirable
treatment of Drs. Waggenseller and Anderson,
are, with one or two exceptions, improving.
There is much virtue, you will readily observe,
in skillful treatment, and proper care and at
tention.
Election day is approaching—well, Nye are
"eager for the fray," so far as Company I is
-cemented. And, from some of my intimate
Mends attached to some of the other compa
nies now here with the regiment, I hear the
moat
hee ,.. th rr i ztr", 4 6N l r="ses of -what they
. will do.
nom tray or
two ago—" The cops die hard!" Shouldn't
wonder! Our beautiful native city ieinfested
with hard cops—that is--unprincipled ones.
Out here they die easy—they have some re
spect for the "dear told flag," and can be styled
"war Democrats'? more appropriately than
copperheads. There are some honorable and
respectable men amongst us, who are at least
discreet enough to remain quiet if they do not
believe 'in our political creed. Naught of
treason or its obnoxious antecedents are pro
claimed here, with impunity. Self-respect
and love of country are stronger than love of
party.
Will you • oblige many soldiers attached to

Tsz Fran Orrr Zotravas.—On the 9th of
May, 1863, this veteran company, after hav
ing served nine months as Company A,
127th P. V., ,was mustered out of the service
of the United States. In the course of its
career, from its first organization in May,
1861, it had earned and received the plaudits.
of an admiring people in Harrisbttrg, and had
been stamped by many high in military rank
and ability as a first-class corps in drill,
discipline, .k.c. Its frequent tenders of. ser
vice to the Government won it the respect
and regard of our military authorities, and
made our citizens proud of it as a company.
When k•it was mustered out in May, 1863,
we made the notice of the fact: " The
men return to their homes for a season,
to resume or settle up their business ;
but before long ive predict that many of
this most excellent body of troops will again
respond to their country's call, and enter its
service. * * * They deserve and will re-
°Sive the plaudits of a people that have always
been proud of them." We now make the
following list showing the whereabouts of this
body of men, and to verify your prediction.
There may be a few errors committed as to
numbers of regiments, and, perhaps; here and
there, as to rank; but, in the main, we will
guarantee its correctness. We think it presents
a proud record, and one worthy of its name
and fame. By this list it will be seen that
twenty-two are members of the 201st P. V.,
and the balance scattered. It shows one
colonel, five captains, six first lieutenants.
(including one regimental quartermaster, )
six second lieutenants, three sergeant-majors,
and the balance first-sergeants, corporals,
privates, and a clerk in government employ..
Those not named are not in the service, al
though four of them, as well as some named
in this list, have served out an enlistment,.
since then, in various ranks. There are three
deceased, as follows : Samuel G. Garman,
While a private in the 18th Pennsylvania Cav
alry ; Hezekiah J. Gilchrist, while a sergeant
in the 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry; and a pris
oner on Belle Island; Ira D. Heicher, while a
private in the 20th Pennsylvania Cavalily, and
a prisoner on Belle Island"!
