Among the extraordinary attractions of this

of Bedouin Arabs, thirteen in number,
the equestrian company, who are to exhibit
their wonderful performances together under
the same tent.
Yo other race of people has ever attained
that perfection in athletic exercises as the
dwellers of the Desert of Arabia. Their feats
of herculean prowess, their wonderful quick
ness of action in vaulting and leaping, their
ingenious juggling tricks, their astonishing ex

generally, have rendered them celebrated in
every country upon the globe.

or upon the burning plains, they are their
only recreations. At their intervals of vest,
during the jburney of the caravan, or the halt
of their marauding squadrons, their sole
amusement is the indulgence of those athletic
games and brilliant tours de force for which
they
,everywhere stand pre-eminent. -These

exhibition. The circus troupe is said to 'be

profession ; and taken altogiftli4irVa/t

artists of Cork as Fult. Myers, W. Porter, W.

there is no such word as fail. There is a con

short space of time than any other two
troupes combined: We learn that Sanford
takes his Farewell. .12.enefit on Saturday evening,
when an original bill will be presented. We
need not urge the public to attend Sanford's

STATE Fein—The Pennsylvania State Agri
cultural Society, will hold its next fair at
Easton, Pa., Sept. 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th,
1864. The most ample accommodations, we
Axe informed, are being made. The grounds
and buildings of the Farmers' and Mechanics'
Institute, where the Fair will be held, are
among the largest and finest in the State. In
addition to the buildings and sheds already
erected, several very largo tents have been se
cured; cue for the Floral and Fruit depart
ment and the other for the Fruit,p,rowers' So
ciety of Eastern Pennsylvania, who will hold
their quarterly meeting upon the grounds at
the same time. Their object is to discuss all
questions appertaining to fruit growing as
well as to which frrdts:of their own production.
Their discussions are not beneficial, but will
add much to the general interest of the Fair.
From present indications the fair will be one
of the largest ever held in the State.

FALSE PRETENCE.—An acquaintance of a brief
period related to me the following incident:
Business on last Sunday a week compelled
him to take a horse back ride to the classic
borough of Middletown. On his return he came
home by the way of the Poor House. Being
addicted to the use of tobacco and segars, and
oat of the former, he stopped at the Poor
House and asked one of the inmates for a
light. lie, the , inmate, said if my acquaint
ance would give him a segar, he would light
it. It was done. He went, and in a few mo
ments returned puffin ,, b the seg a r with all
the airs of a first class dandy. .iVe now ask
legal advice. Was the segar obtained under
false pretence? And in conclusion, as the rich
and poor must be clothed, it is of importance
to know where dry goods are sold cheap. We
say at C. L. Bowman's, No.l, corner of Front
and Market streets.

the test of over thirty years, and has always
proved a success.
Dr. RA D'S SPECIFIC is exhibited in the
form of pills, made up entirely of substances
that have a specific effect upon the generative
organs. Most persons associate the idea of
operations upon the bowels from taking any
kind of pills. The SPECIFIC, of Dr. Rand is
not intended as an evacuating medicine. Its
medicinal virtues are expended entirely upon
the impaired regenerative organs. The pills
are not unpleasant to the taste, and many
persons masticate them with impunity before'
swallowing them ; which plan we would al
ways recommend, as affording the speediest
way to get the effect of the remedy.
