Tom; are DOG. —We learn from one wno• witnessed the occurrence, that a small child, belonging to one of our citizens, was attacked by a fe:rocious dog, a day or two ago, and re ceived serious injuries. Ifs head and face were terribly lacerated, a portion of its was torn off, and its eyes narrowly escaped destruction. Bat slight hopes are entertained of the recovery of the child. Of course the dog was killed, but its death does not atone for the injuries sustained by the child. ThO owners of ferocious dogs should be compelled to have them secured, or pay dearly for their violations of the laws. . . GER.
