The 15th day of April, 1864, is designated as the time lip' to which the numbers required in each ward of a city, town, &c., may be raised. The gunboats Onchita, Rage, Conestoga, Lexington, Fort Hinman and Crocket com posed the late expedition up the Wachita river,La. Trinity was found to be strongly fortied. The iron -clad Osage, which was in advance, was alloWed to pass without in terruption. The flag-ship Hinman followed, when a heavy fire was opened upon her, which after some time .obliged her to retire in a dam aged condition, with the loss of two men killed and eight wounded. The flag was then transferred to the Onchita, whose powerful guns silenced the enemy's battery, which con sisted of "three thirty-two pounders. But lit tle difficulty wits experienced in driving the enemy from their position at Harrisonburg, further up the river, which our forces burned. The gunboat Onchita received but slight in jury during the engagement, but the Hinman will require considerable repairs. The gun boat Conestoga came in collision with the .General Price on the Misqissippi, on the 10th, a short distance below Natchez.
