The Brigade of Cavalry under command of
Gen. Buford made a descent on Madison Court
House on Tuesday, and , found that the relwis
had been there but had lett. He made a reoon
noisauce in every direction, andmet rebel pick
ets on every road.
On the seventh the pickets . On- the road to
Stannardavilla had a skirmish, losing , one
killed and three wounded.
On the next day the First Haigh/Aid had an
other skirMish on the Orange , Cceirt Rouse
t*adhiria which they lost 6 hilted and ikwounted
and about a desert taken prisoners.,
Being reinforced by the First Michigan, the
Rilbe - triferedtiven ,to the Rapidan.
A strong reoonnoisance was made on the seine
evening to the Rapidan on the Orange. road
and a skirmish was going on without Imo, •
when an order came from Gen. Buford to re
turn to Madison Court Rouse :
