knee Joints and of the hands. She has now dull
pain in her shoulders, and her knuckles aro very tender,
red and painful ; both bands are affected, but the right
to so. This, then, is a case of acute rheumatism, er,
as it is now fitshionebly milled, rheumatic fever. Ilia a
well remarked typical ease We will caredilly watch the
ease, and from time to time call your attention to the vari
ous symptoms which present themselves. My chief °Watt
le bringing her before you now, Is s to call attention to a
remedy which bas recently been recommended in- the
treatment of rheumatism. I moan propyiainfue. Dr.
.41erellartne, or St. Petersburg, recommends it In the
highest terms, having derived great benedt from Its Use
to 260 cases which came under his care. Various com
mendatory testimonials respecting it' have appeared In
our jourhais, and I propose therefore to give It another
trial. 1 must confess I ant always incredulous aS to the
worth of new remedies, which are eansted as specifies ;
but this comes to us recommended so highly, that we
are bound to give it a trial.,

and wet, and this exposure is followed by a haling of
coldness, severe articular pain, beginning, as it usually
does, in the lower joints. There is fever and the profuse
