cleaning, she took cold, had pain in her back, felt cold,
hot bad ito decided chill. Two days later her ankles be
gan so swell, which was followed by 'welling of the
knee joints and of the hand!. She has now dull
pain in her shoulders, anther knuckles are very tender,
red and painful ; both hands are affected, but the ri ght
is meet so. This, then, Is a case of acute rheumatient, or,
as It Is now fishionably called, rheumatic fever. Ills a
wall remarked typical case. We will carefally watch the
case, and from lime to lime call your attention to the vari
ous symptoms which present themselves. Michief object
in bringing her before you now, la to all attention to •
remedy which has recently been recommended In the
treatment of rheumatiam. I mean propytamitte. Dr.
Sweltering, of tn. Petersburg, recommends It to the
highest terms, having derived great ueneth from its use
in 260 cues which came under his care. Various coin"
mandatory testimonials respecting it have appeared in
our journals, and I propose therefore to give it another
trial. I must confess lam always incredulous as to the
worth of new remedies, which are vaunted as 'perinea ;
but this comes to us recommended 50 highly, that we
are Wend to give it a trial.
