strong. Two years ago she had au attack of acute rhennk
tism,trom which she was confined to bar bed for two weeks
and enhaegenny from a relapse far tour more. : She bas been
well since then till last Saturday, 'while engaged in house
damning, she took cold, had pain in her back, felt cold,
hot had no decided chill. Two days later her ankles be
gan sersvell, which was followed by swelling of the
knee joints and of Um hands. She has now dull
pain In her shoulders, and her knuckles are very tender,
rod and painful both hands twee eats:led, but the right
is mos I, 80. This, then, is a cast of acute rhaurnatieln, or,
as it Is now fashionably celled, rheumatic fever. his a
well remarked typical ease We will carefully watch the
case, and from lime to time call your attention to the vari

mendatory testimonials respecting it have appeared in
our journals, and 1 propose therefore to give it another
