rendering marriage, Sze., impossible.
Young Men
Especially, who have become the :victims of Solitary
Vice, that dreadful and destructive habit which annual

Men of the most exalted talents and brilliant intellect,
who might otherwise have entranced listening Senates

Married Persons, or Young Men contemplating mar

Organic Weakness
immediately Cored, and full vigor Restored. -
This distreating Affection—which renders I lie misera
ble and marriage impossible—is the penalty paid by the
Victims of Improper indulgences. Young porsons . are too
apt to commit eximises from not being aware of the
dreadful conseqtences that may ensue. Now, who that
understands the subject will pretend to deny that the pow
er of procreation is lost sooner by those failing into im
proper habits than by the prudent? Besides being de
prived the pleasures of healthy offspring, the most se
rious and destructive symptoms to both body and mind
arise. The system becomes deranged, the Physical and
Mental Functions Weakened, Loss of Procreative Power,
Nervious Irratibility, Dyspepsia, Palpitation of the Heart,
Indigestion, Oonstiluilonil Debility, a Wasting of the

A Cure Warranted in Two Days.
No Mercury or Nauseous Drags,
Dr. Johnson,
Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, London, Grad
uate from one of the most eminent Colleges In the United
States, sad the greater part of whose hie has been spent
in the hospitals of London, Paris, Philadelphia and else
where, has effected some of the most astonishing cures
that were ever known; many troubled with ringing in
the head and ears whoa asleep, great nervousness, being
alarmed at sudden gonads, bashfulness, with frequent
blushing, attended sometimes with derangement of mind
were cured immediately.
Take Particular. Notice.
Dr. J. addresses all those who have Injured themselves
by improper Inditigenee and solitary habits, which ruin
both body and mind, entitling them for either Nubian,
study, society or marriage.
'these arc some of the sad and melancholly effects pro
duced by early habits of youth, via : Weakness of the

to be dreaded—Loss of Memory, Confusion of Ideas,De.
premien of Spirits, Evil Forbodinge , Aversion to So ciety,
Self Distrust, Lois of Maude, Timidity, &c., are some of
the evils produced.
THOMUNDs of persousof ail ages can now judge what
is the cause of their declining health, losing their vigor,
becoming weak, pale, nervous and emaciated, having a
singular appearance about the eyes, cough and symptoms
of consumption.
Young Men -
Who have injured themselves by a certain practice in
dulged in when alone, a habit frequently learned from
evil companions, or at school, the effects of which are
nightly felt, even when asleep, add if not cured renders
merrier impossible, and destroys both mind and body,
should apply immediately.
What a pity that ayoung man, the hope of his coun

all prospects and enjoyments of life, by the consequence
of deviating from the path of nature and Indulging In a
certain secret habit. Such persons Inns; before contem-i

without these, the journey through lire becomes a weary
pilgrimage ; the prospect hourly darkens to the view ;
the mind.bccomes shadowed with despair tutd filled with
the molanoholly reflection that the happiness of another
becomes blighted with our own.
Disease of Imprudence.
When the misguided and Imprudent votary of pleasure
finds that ho has imbibed the seeds of this painful dis
ease, it too often Wens that an 111-timed sense of shame
or dread of discovery, deters him from applying to those
who, from e.lueation and respectability, can alone be
friend him, delaying till the constitutional symphems on
this hors d disease make their appearance, such as ul
cerated sore throat, diseased nose, nocturnal pains in
the head and limbs, dimness of sight, deafness, nodes on
the shin bones and arms, blotches on the head, face and
extremities, progressing with frightful rapidity , till at
last the palate of the mouth or the bones of the nose fall
is, and the victim of this awful disease become , a horrid
object of commiseration, till death pats a period to his
dreadful sullerings, by sending him to " that Undiscov
vered Country from whence no traveler returns."
It is a seelaschdly fact that thousauda fall. victims to
this terrible disease, owing to the unskilfuliness of igno
rant pretenders, who by the use of that Dewily Poison,
Mercury, ruin the constitution and make the'residue o
life miserable.

"I solemnly swear in all cases and things
pertaining to the trial and impeachment of
West H Humphrey, late Judge of the United
States for the several districts of Tennessee,
that I will do impartial justice as a court of law
and the court being thus formed, will receive
the managers from the House, &c." Adopted.
The Senate took up the tax bill instead of
the confiscation bill by a vote of yeas 83, nays
9, and the Senate proceeded to the considera
tion of the amendments of the Committee on
Finance, several of which were adopted, inclu
ding one reducing the salary of commissioner
from five thousand to three thousand five hun
dred.
The Senate went into executive session and
adjourned.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House resumed the consideration of the
confiscation bill.
Mr. Voortams, (Ind.,) reviewed the financial
policy which had governed the administration
since it came into power, characterizing it as
unsound, unwise and ruinous. The crim
inals who have been plundering the trea
sury have not .been brought to justice, nor
has honesty pervaded the Departments. His
tory will on this subject cause every lover
of his country to bow his head while his cheek
burns with shame because of the extravagance
and shamlessnees of expenditures at a time
when the nation was struggling for life. By
means of mismanagement and fraud the public
debt a year hence will be one sixth of the
entire wealth of the country. Now the
proportion to every voter is two hundred dol
lars. Twelve months from this time it will be
four hundred dollars. Where was the evidences
that any other people had been burdened within
so short a time. In conclusion, he expressed
the hope and predicted that the people would
rise in their might and send hither representa
tives who will be governed by the teachings of
the Bible and the Constitution, and that the
Union will be re-established on the principles
of justice and christianity.
Mr. Mom:Ex, (Vermont,) controverted Vor
hees' figures as to expenditures.
Mr. lti - vra y was severe upon Mr. Voorhees,
and accused him of sympathizing with traitors,
saying that Floyd, Cobb and others were
thieves under the gentleman's own party ad
ministration. He said if the speech of Mr. Voor
hees had been made in halls of rebel Congress,
its well sounded points would have drawn down
a tumult of applause. Was Floyd a member
of Lincoln's cabinet? Who was he but
the man who stole the arms from the
well stocked arsenals and gave them to the
rebels to create this war ? Was Howell
Cobb, a member of the Lincoln Cabinet? It
was he who put the credit of our country so
low that we could not borrow money at twelve
per cent. Was Jacob Thompson, a member of
Lincoln's Cabioet, the man, who stole the In
dian bonds ? Was Toncey a member of Lin
coln's Cabinet? He that distributed the few
ships remaining in our waters, and sent
them to distant seas, these were the veriest
scoundrels whose overthrow the gentleman
from Indiana mourned. The present condition
of the country was the natural result - of the
treatment the people.received at thehande of the
Democratic party. Considering all their corrup
tions it did lie in the month of those seeking
to resuscitate the Democratic party to reproach
the present administration with fraud. Ste
phen A. Douglas had truly said there could be
only two parties in the country, loyal men and
traitors_; a man must be for or against the
government.
