I= (thrrespondence Missouri Democrat.] FOBS , Mo., April 13 Judge Murphy and D. Johnson, of Hunts ville, Ark., arrived at General Curt& head quarters last night, having been obliged to fly from their homes since the battle of Pea Ridge, by threats made against them by a band of Texan ranger stationed at Watch. Judge Murphy was the only member of the Arkansas seceding convention, whose vote was cast against secession of the State at Hunts ville. The Union men are depressed with gloom, not being aware of the recent victories, ,no mails having been received since Pierces Sight from Springfield. It was proclaimed by•the rebels that Price had retaken Springfield and surrounded Out • gikearudthbkl.ndians had, whippedanu . at the Federale were reprased with greet foss at Island No. 10, and were falling back along the whole line, and that Jeff. Davis was about to head four hundred thousand troops to invade Maryland and the Northern States. - These assertions were generally believed and uo one had the hardihood to dispute these false hood. The judge gives much information of interest relative to Arkansas matters'. Gov. Rector is bitter and wolfish. He called an extra session of the Legislature but it was three weeks before a quorum was present. In his message he recommended that an act be passed punishing with heavy fine any per son who even expressed doubt of the success of the confederate arms and that a second offence be declared felony. An act was passed imposing a tax of thirty dollars per bale on cotton, thus favoring the production of grain to the discouragemcat of cotton raising. Col. Wright, of the Sixty-eighth Missouri cav alry returned to Caseville on the evening of the evening of the ninth, having made a successful expedition, with four companies of his com mand, through the southwest corner of the State. • All Jayhawking bands in that locality were dispersed. Several skirmishes took place, which result ed in the death of several prominent rebels. One hundred and twenty-five prisoners were captured, all of whom except the leaders and some twenty-five were released on taking the oath of allegiance. A number of horses were captured, together with one hundred and twenty-two head of cat tle, three hundred and twenty-seven bushels of wheat and forty-five hundred pounds of bacon. All rebel gangs not capturej were driven by Col. Wright down to Standwaity, a point on the line of the. Indian Territory, twenty-five miles below Nesho. It is reported that a body of rebels, six hun dred strong, are encamped between Clowstine and Buffalo creek, and Pike is at the head of fifteen hundred Indians, fifteen miles. below. FROM WASHINGTON THE REPORT ON THE SURRENDER OF THE NORFOLK NAVY YARD. NO PASSES TO YORKTOWN WASHINGTON, April 18 The Select Committee to inquire into the surrender of the Norfolk Navy Yard made a report to-day. They censure the Buchanan Administration severely for its neglect, and say that the pres ent Administration cannot be held blameless for suffering thirty-seven days to elapse, after it came into power, before making amovement for the defence of the yard. The Committee censures Commodore Pauld 'rig, and Captains Pendergrass and McCauley, and say, in conclusion that "the nation should learn that pusillanimity in the defence of our rights may be as injurious as the as saults of our enemies."
