McClellan, and urged the men of the regiment
before him to rely on the genius of the Major.

power and capacity of Gen. McClellan, would
hide their diminished heads when the results ,
of this straggle exhibited'the greatness of his
plans and the pureness of hie motives. In con
.clusion Gov. Curtin invoked the vigilance and
care of Col. Zagle for his men, and then com
mitted the flag to his care , with thelassurance
that he had every faith in the valor of the men
who were to march beneath its folds.
Col. Zeigle received the flag as a soldier, with
few words, yet graceful acknowledgmenth, and
the assurance that those to whom it was com
mitted would never permit its glory to be tar
nished.
The regiment then saluted the f Clevernor,
when the line of march to Camp Curtin wee

name truly for a mammoth pawn-broker estab

benefit cf one or two individuals, to the gfekt
