At Paris, Tenn.; they also found tents and camp equipage of the troops that left Fort Henry. The troops have moved from here, probably to attack Fort Done Lion to-morrow. Mr: Wrratunsoff, (Nino.,) from the Commit tee on Indian Affairs, reported a joint resolu tion for the relief of certain Indians. He said there were at this time from four thousand to five thousand loyal 'lndians at Leavenworth, who had been driven from their homes and Were 'now entirely destitute and almost in a star.. - -of starvation. They were mostly Creeks, Chickasaw: and Choctaws. Mr. Doourns (Witt.) said a resolution to the Wile effect had been drawn up with the con currence of the §ccretary of the luterior. Mr. Wrisorr accepted the latter resolution as a substitute, and it was adopted. Mr. H t iains (N. Y.) introduced a bill to pro vide for • itie safe keeping and maintenance of United Stems prisoners. Also a bill providing for provisional govern ments in certain cases. Both bills were epproprietely reported. Mr. DOOLLI7LII (Wis.) presented the petition of the Oneida Indians, asking that the criminal laws of Wisconsin be extended over them. Mr. SiIIIBMAN offered an amendment to re peal an act passed in July, authorising Major Genesis to appoint their aids, and attar some discussion, Mr. Sherman withdrew, but Mr. Grimes renewed the amendment, which was discussed at seine length. The Senate then went into executive session, and subsequently adjourned thl Monday. The Senate amendments to the United States note bill were received and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. The House then resumed the consideration of the naval appropriation bill. The amendment appropriating $16,000,000 for building additional gunboats was then adopted—yeas 118, nays 25. Amendments were also adopted appropriating $60,000 for an ordinance to undry at Washing ton, and tor ordnance $1,000,000. The • bill was then passed, tfr. HJOKILAR (Pa.,) said that Mr. Wykoff having appeared before the Judiciary Commit committee and answered the question pro pounded to him, thud purging himself of nun tempt, he moved that Mr. Wykoff be brought before the bar of the House wan the view that be may be released from custody by the action of this body. The Speaker thought that by the terms of the resolution by which Mr. Wykoff was order ed into dose custody, the aituess can be dis charged without further action by the House ; pa having answered the question. Atxording to the ruling of the Spealter,_hir. Wykoff was then ordered to be discharged nom custody.
