the suggestinn of their teachers, eighteen or

pair in "double quick" time during the hol

CRRlmus. — Notwithstanding the great po
lad excitement which prevails throughout
e country, our people are nevertheless deter

things indicate that it will be observed in
a city with the usual festivity. Yesterday

decorating the churches a large quantity
procured. 'there will bo feasting, but there

SANFORD.—The irresistible Sanford, of pleas

memory, reopened Brant's Hall on Monday
with his famous troupe to a large and appreci
ative audience. To day the troupe will give
two performances afternoon and evening
—each of which will terminate with the grand
spectacular, dramatic, terpsichorean, mirth-pro
voking,side•splitting, and expressive pantomine
entitled the "Three Legged Monster, Harlequin
or The llghting Shoemaker and Tailor." The
piece will be brought out with all the appurte
nances of scenery, machinery and dresses, which
created such a furore at the manager's opera
house in Philadelphia. This is certainly a very
liberal bill of entertainment, and we cannot see
how any lover of amusement with a quarter
in his pocket can stay away from the hall.
