PROF. 0. J. WOOD'S
RESTORATIVE CORDIAL,
BLOOD RENOVATOR.
Is precisely what its name indicates;for, while plessan
to the taste, it is real :dying, ex nilarating and strength
ening to the vital powers. It also rev, villes, reinstates,
and renews the blood in all its original purity, and thus
restores and renders the system invulnerable to attacks
of disease. It is the o ,ly preparation ever offered to the
world in a popular form so as to be within the reach of
all,
So chemically and skillfully combined as to be the
most powerful tonic, and yet so perfectly adapted as to
act in perfect ace ;Nance with the laws of nature, and
hence soothe the weakest stomach, and tone up the di
gestive organs, and allay alt nervous and other irritation.
It is also perfectly exhilarating in its effects! and yet it is
sever followed by lassitude or depression of spirits. It
is composed entirely of vegetables, and those thoroughly
combining powerful tonic and soothing properties, and
consequently c,n never injure. As a sure preventive

TRAVELERS should have a bottle with them, as it in

learn by a private letter from York, that a
member of the Cameron Guard, of this city.
named Samuel Wireman, was shot day before
yesterday, while quietly sewed in his quarters
at Camp Scott. It appears that a member of
another volunteer company was making some
repairs to his musket, in a roum directly be

some accident it was prematurely discharged,
and the ball passed through the ceiling into the
fleshy part of one of Wireman's legs, causing
a severe flesh wound, which will probably con

The Texas branch (the Texas Central road) 1a.,:
been sold out by its creditors ; and in a recent
issue of the New Orleans Picayune, we find
card from Gen. Richardson, ageat for the S. P.
R. It. Co., in which he implores the stockhol
ders to come to the rescue of the company of
all will be lost. The Picayune says :
This company In the late quiet times was at
work building its road, pressing forward ire
construction, making financial atraugeineuts
in Europe and America to meet its engage
ments. All at once the sky is overcast, the
,tempest falls upon the land. The company is
caught at sea; it wants to reach the stele. I ,
cannot du so unless its friends and shareholders
will help. Dzbts have accrued for work done;
they must be paid, or the process of the law
will sell the franchises and pc petty of the
company. The "late quiet times' did not
suit Texas and other Southern States, and now
they are begining to reap the fruits of their
disquiet. Capital will not go where it cannot

OPINION OF ONE OF THE WASHINGTON COMMIS

and poetical over the present postillion of the

in the following unique style :
