ally think lightly'bf them until it is too late. From. this
last, perhaps more thassany other, arises the sad preva
lence and fatality of , disease which sweeps to the grave at

What are its graptostrio
It/usually begins with a short dry cough, which ,soon
becomes habitual, butfor some time nothing is raised ex
cept,a frothy mucus. The breathing Is somewhat difticult,
and upon. slight exercise much inerrtat A sense of tight
sees sinomresdais at the chest Is often felt.. As the dis
ease, advancos the patient becomes thin in flesh, is afflict
ed with loss of appetite, groat languor, indolence and de
jection of spirits; and may continue in this state for a
considerable length of time, that It is very readily affected
by slight exposure or fatigue. "If these occur, the cough
becomes mem troublesome, and is attended Kith expecte
ration, which is most copious and free very early in the
morning.. • 'lt is sometimes streaked with blood. At this
stage Idea-sweats usually set. In, and In some casesi a pro
fuse bleeding of the lungs may also occur. Pain in some
part of the chest .is felt, and often a difficulty In lying
upon one or the other side, without severe fits of cough
ing or a sense of fullness or sultbinition, is experienced.
The pulse becomes full, hard and frequent, the beak
flush tinges the cheeks, and the dire malady is fast has
