was entirely destroyed. The fire was caused
by a stove-pipe which passed through a gar

SERIOUS Accreprr.--On -Thursday evening
last,. while several men employed in the black
-4 Lop of the Feupsylvauia Railroad, at
Altoona, were seated - upon•the frame of a lo
comotive, which was propped upon blocks, it
gave way or upset, and fell' upon two of ther,,,
named C. A. Parsons and Solomon Hartzell,
breaking,4 leg, of the ,former in tic, places,
and severely injuring- the agkle of the latter.
The frame Weighs a,bout nineteen hundred
'pounds,' and at, the time it fell, there were not
men enough present to raise it off Parsons,
who' was caught under it; And. he was held
doWn for = a considerable time. A physician
was immediately Called; who reduced the frac
ture, and Parsons is now doing Well.
