Grand qOpporhead Fizzle, i
Correspondence of the Rekgraph.]
Satutsuanis, Oct. 12.
Last Saturday the Copperhead tribe intended
to have ti - grand time at thisplace. - They made
every preparation. The day came, but not the
speakers, so there was a great hub bnb in
the camp. One — ‘‘ Jack" was seen suddenly
leaving town fora'neighboring town to procure
a speaker, but returning minus Mr. Bpealier.
About 1 o'clock, r. they had their grind
parade, which •was about a sqattre in length,
threefourths Being women and - children. One
of the assistant marshals once . told us "his reg
iment ran off ftom him." ..(Ahem.)
Their ardor was reonsiderably dampenedlby
the appearance, all through town, of wreaths
encircling the names of Ourtin and AgneW.—
After listening two hours and a half to one of
our. Copperhead lawyers, they subsided Ind went
home, not so gleefrdly,as they came. So. enffed
the farce. 1471614
