was detected charging enormous compensations

name is now in the hands of the Secretary of
War, who, after sentence pronounced, will
divulge it to the public.

benefits derived from it by our soldiers. During
the month of July, over 51,000 soldiers were
fed at the "Rest," and since the first of August;
19,000 more have received their meals at
that place. The buildings DO_ fences have
recently been neatly white-washed, ...and a
number of trees planted in the yard in front of
drill room. It would well repay the reader to

volunteers;was found, about twelve o'clocklast
night, sitting upon the railroad track near the
depot, in a complete state of nudity, and quite
unable to give- any account of himself, when
discovered. Herbed receive. some a. vere injn
die, evidently the result of his having bon
dragged along the track by a train. Th , re
were several bruises on his - beck and leis, and
his left hand was literally torn to pieces. Hi
wasat once conveyed to the Chestnut street
hospital, where his wounds were dressed,tand

circus here on that day, having just arrived

Tan Colman DBAITILD Mss.—All the colored
men conscripted in this District, will be sepa
rated from the white conscripts, by the Provost
Marshal, and sent to the colored camp near
Philadelphia, now commanded by Col. Wagner.
These men will be consolidated into the first
colored regiment or company that shall be or
ganized after they reach camp.
CONTINUATION 02 TSB Doerr.—Northumberland
County Continued.—The drawing of conscripts in
Northumberland county was concluded this
morning. The towns and townships drawn
were Little M.abanoy and Washington, Milton
borough, Mt. Carmel borough and township,
Northumberland borough and Point townshiP,
Rush, Shamokin township, Sunbury borough,
Turbot, Zarbe. The number enrolled , was one
thousand one hundred and ninety six. The
number drawn was three hundred and fifty-,
