Immediately Cured, and fall vigor restored.
This distressing affection—which renders life
miserable and marriage impossible---is the pen
alty paid by the victims of improper indulgence.
Young persons are too apt to commit excesses
from not being aware of the dreadful conse
quences that may ensue. Now, who that un
derstands the subject will pretend to deny that
the power of procreation is lost sooner by those
falling into improper habits than by the pru
dent. Besides being deprived the pleasures of
healthy °Spring, the most serious and destruc
tive symptoms to both body and mind arise.
The system becomes deranged, the physical and
mental functions weakened, loss of procreative
power, nervous irritability, dyspepsia, palpita
tion of the heart, indigestion, constitutional
debility. a wasting of the frame, cough, con
sumption, decay and death.

DR. JOHNSON,
Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Lon
don, graduate from one of the most eminent
colleges in the United States, and the greater
part of whose life has been spent in the hospi
tals of London, Paris, Philadelphia and else
where, has effected some of the most astonishing
cures that were ever known ; many troubled
with ringing in the head and ears when asleep,
great nervousness, being alarmed at sudden
sounds, bashfulness, with frequent blushing,
attended sometimes with derangement of mind
were cured immediately.
These are some of the sad and melancholy
effects produced by early habits of youth, viz :
weakness of the back and limbs, pains in the
head, dimness of sight, ices of muscular power,
palpitation of the heart, dyspepsia, nervous
irritability, symptoms of consumption, &o.
lffsarrnmar.—The fearful effects on the mind
are much to be dreaded-103s of memory, coo
fusion of Ideas, depression of spirits, evil fore
bodings, aversion to society, self distrust, love
of solitude, timidity, &c., are some of the evils
produced.

Who have injured themselves by a certain
practice indulged in when alone, a habit fre
quently learned from evil companions, or at
school, the effects of which are nightly felt,
even when asleep, and if not cured renders
marriage impossible, and destroys both mind
and body, should apply immediately.
What a pity that a young man, the hope of
his country, the darling of his parents, should
be snatched from all prospects and enjoyments
of life, by the consequence of deviatkg from
the path of nature and indulging in a certain
secret habit. such perms xner, beforecontem

MARK AGE,
Relied that a eonnd mind and body are the
most necessary requisites to promote connubial
happiness. Indeed, without these, the journey
through life becomes a weary pilgrimage : the
prospect hourly darkens to the view
' the mind
becomes shadowed with despair and filled with
the melancholy reflection that the happiness of
another becomes blighted with our own.
When the misguided and imprudent votary
of pleasure finds he has imbibed the seeds of
this painful disease, it too often happens that
an 'Mimed sense of shame or the dread of dis
covery deters him from applying to those who,
from education and respectability, can alone
befriend him. He falls into the hands of igno
rant and designing pretenders, who, incapable
of curing, filch his pecuniary substance, keep
Ott trifling month after month, or as long as
the sandiest fee can 'be obtained, and in despair
leave him with ruined-health to sigh over his
galling disappointment, or, by the use of the
deadly poison, Mercury, hasten the constitu
tional symptoms of this terrible disease; each as
affections of the Head, Throat, Nose, Skin, eto.,
progressing with frightful rapidity till death
puts a period to his dreadful sufferings by send
ing him to that undiscovered country .froin
whence no traveller returns.

TS a concentrated extract of Para Sarsaparilla,
so combined with other substances of still
greater alterative power as to afford an effective
antidote for diseases Sarsaparilla is reputed to
cure. Such a remedy is surely wanted by those
who suffer from Strumons complaints, and that
one which will accomplish their cure must prove
of immense service to this large class of our
afdicled fellow citizens. How completely this
compound will do it has been proven by ex
periment on many of the worstcas 3s to be found
in the following complaints :
SCROFULA. AND SCROFULOUS COMPLAINTS, Emir-
TIONS AND ERUPTIVI DISEASES, lILORBE, - PIMPLES,
BLOTORES, 'AMORE, SALT Buzum, SCALD HEAD,
SYPHILIS AND SIMLLITIO AFFECTIONS, MERCURIAL
DISEASE, DROPSY, 'NEURALGIA OR TIC DOLONEUX,
DENTIST; DYSPEPSIA AND INDIGESTION, ERYSIPE
LAS, Boss oil ST. Anr4orrT's Pupa, and indeed
the whole class of complaints arising from IM
PURITY OF THE BLOOD.
HILTON'S
This compound will be found a great promo
ter of health, when taken in the spring, to expel
the foul humors which fester in the blood at
that season of the year. By the timely expulsion
of them many rankling disorders are gipped in
the bud. Multitudes can, by the aid of this
remedy, spare themselves from the endurance
of foul eruptions and ulcerous sores, through
which the system will strive to rid itself of
corruptions, if not assisted to do this through
the natural channels of the body by an alters-
V.ve medicine. Cleanse out the vitiated blood
whenever you find its impurities bursting
through the skin in pimples, eruptions or sates ;
cleanse it when you find it is obstructed and
sluggish in the veins ; cleanse it wheneyer it is
foul, and your feelings will tell you when. Even
where no particular disorder is felt, people
enjoy better health, and live longer, for cleans
ing the blood. Keep the blood healthy, and
all is well ; but with the pabulum of life disor
dered, there can be no lasting health. Sooner
or later something must go wrong, and the
great machinery of life is disordered or over
thrown.
During late years the public have been mis
led by large bottles, pretending to give a quart
of Extract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. Most
of these have been frauds upon the sick, for
they not only contain little, if any, Sarsaparilla,
but oaten no curative properties whatever.—
Hence, bitter and painful disappointment has
followed the use of the various extracts of Sar
saparilla which flood the market, until the name
itself is justly despised, and has become synony
mous with imposition and cheat. Still we call
this compound SArsaparilla, and intend to supply
such a remedy as shall rescue the name from
the load of obloquy which rests upon it. And
we think we have ground for believing it has
virtues which are irresistible by the ordinary
run of the diseases it is intended to cure.

Bloom of Youth or Liquid Pearl
FOR beautifying and preserving the cora
plexion and skin.
After using Laird's Bloom of Youth, or Liquid
Pearl, for a short time, it will leave the skin a
soft, satin-like texture ; it imparts freshness,
smoothness and transparency to the skin, that
can only be produced by the use of this valuable
article. It presents no vulgar white paint, as
all other attempted compounds do, but, on the
contrary, it will give the complexion a pearl
like tint, such as can only be found in youth ;
its use is impossible to be detected by the closest
observers. It is also 'invaluable for removing
all kinds of Humors,
Tane, Freckels, Sunburns
and other cutaneous diseases from the skin.
Mr. L'Aird has every confidence in recom
mending his Bloom of Youth, or Liquid Pearl,
to the ladies of America, as being the only per
fect and reliable article now in use for heautifyine
and preserving the complexion and thin.

MARKETS BY TELEGRAPH.
PIIILADELMIA, Aug. 3.
The warm weather and absence from the city
' of many of the mercantile community, tends to
curtail operations within a very limited circle.
The flour market continues inactive and the only
sales reported are 800 barrels good Ohio extra
family at $6 25@56 50 per barrel; 1,000 bat tele
extra family on private terms, and 2,000 barrels
to the Government on tetras not made public.
Small sales to the retailers and bakers with'n
the range of $5 874@,57 60 for common super
fine and fancy lots—according to quality. Rye
flour is selling in a small way at $4 50 per
barrel. In Coin Meal there is nothing doing.
The market is poorly supplied with old
Wheat, and of new the receipts are not only
small but of inferior quality. Small sales of
good and prime Pennsylvania and Western
red at $1 nal 35 per buehel. White may
be quoted at $1 4001 45. There is very
little Rye here. Corn is in fair request at 78c
for prime yellow and 74c for mixed Western,
but the receipts of the former are trifling. 7,000
bushels told at the latter rate. Oats are dull
at 70c weight. Barley is entirely nominal.
Malt ranges from $1 60 to $1 70. In Provi
sions there is• but little doing. Sales of old
Mess Pork at $ll 76 and new at $l4 per bar
rel. No change in Bacon, Lard, Butter or
Cheese.
Whisky is unchanged. Small sales of Penn
sylvania and Ohio barrels at 47, hhde. at 46c,
and Drudge at 45a451.c.
A WRETCHED CARGO.-A few days since Gen.
Mitchell, commanding at Nashvi , le, perempto
rily ordered all the prostitutes in that place to
leave within twenty-four hours. On the day
following one hundred and six of the frail ones
were shipped for Louisville on the Government
steamer Idahoe. On arriving at the latter point
Gen. Boyle ordered the Idahoe to Cincinnati
with her cargo. She arrived here yesterday
noon, landing outside of severl empty coal
barges lying at the Newport wharf. General
Boyle furnished a military escort, who are on
guard, to prevent these women from gong
ashore. While on the trip several escaped
from the boat—one by swimming ashore in the
night. On arriving here the company number
ed eighty-eight women and six children. An
increase is hourly anticipated in the number of
the latter. Several of the women have served
in the Federal and rebel ranks, one having
performed the duties of a gunner with our ar
tillery at Fort Donelson. The majority are in
veterate chewers of tobacco, and "up to snuff."
Up to last night, we understand, the military
authorities had not decided relative to the dis
posal of this cargo of frail humanity. It is
possible they may be ordered back to Nashville.
The majority are a homely, forlorn set of de
graded creatures. Having been hurried on the
boat by a military guard, many are without
a change of wardrobe. They managed to smug
gle a little liquor on board, which gave out on
the second day after leaving Nashville. Save
ral became intoxicated and indulged in a free
fight, which resulted without material damage
to any of the party, although knives were freely
used. They are nearly all strong rebel sympa
thisers, and boast of their Southern blood.
Two other steamers have also left Naehydle
with similar cargoes —Nashville Despatch.
BSTALIAT/ON Yon lIEBSL Iltansrunts.---The
National Republican contains the following an
nouncement on Vie subject i f retaliation:
"The President has authorized the issuing
of an order declaring that it will be the policy
of the Government to retaliate in kind for
every case of ill treatment of our officers and
men, black or white by the rebel authorities.
Hanging fix hanging, shooting for shooting, and
imprisonment for imprisonment.
"In every instance where it is known that
a black man in the military service of this
Government is taken prisoner and sold into
slavery, our military authorities will to in
structed to select a rebel prisoner and confine
him to hard labor in some prison, there to
remain until the black man is liberated. The
Government maintains and will exact promptly
and to the letter, that the lateral uniform, like
the flag, must be respeded.
A FAITHFUL PRIEST. One of the Roman
Catholic priests of Newark, New Jersey, told his
flock some days since that if he should at any
time hear of the perpetration, by an Irishman,
of any outrage whatever upon any colored citi
zen, he should immediately seek out and pro
tat In his own house the person so assailed.
