PA' IMPORTANT TO JUSTICES OF ME PEACE. -By the list of stamp duties imposed by the amend- . ' ed act, all trauscripts of judgments from docli ets of justices of the peace, will require a five cent stamp attached, which it will be the duty of the justice to cancel. The person or,:ering the transcript will, of oourse, be bound to pay 0 for them ; but in order to save time and trou blo, it will be well for justices to supply them selves with the stamps, in order-that they may be affixed when required. A neglect to comply with the provisions of this act, readers the transcript worthless. PAYING On TUN SOLDINBS.—The paymeht of •the nine months' men will soon be completed, and transportation given them to their hoMes. It is a pity that some of them spend their money so recklessly, though discharged soldier* in general, when they have their, accounts settled with the Government, are neither reckless tor itdulgent, but invest their money where it will be of service hereafter. If the police used more stringent measures to prevent the extensive sale of liquor to the soldiers, many more of them would have a larger supply of cash when they reached their homes; where they would would be sure to sprnd it more sparingly. Waerwaan.—Five car loads of emigrants, numbering over two hundred persons, passed through the city over the Pennsylvania railroad about four o'clock this morning.
