ARRIVAL OF RELEASED UNION PRISONERS. —A
large number of Union prisoners, taken at the
last battle of Fredericksburg and conveyed to
Richmond, where they suffered all the horrors of
of chivalric treatment peculiar to the natural al
lies of the copperheads, arrived in this city yester
day and last night. These men were
. paroled
and exchanged within a few dam and belong,
the greater portion of them,to the nine mouths'
regiments now awaiting - pay and to be mustered
out at Camp Curtin.
We understand, from one of these, men, that
the treatment of the Union prisoners was hor
rible. Many of these were driven along the
road like beasts ; those with wounds, and nna
ble to travel as fast as a rebel _cavalry man,
were beaten over the-head, and other poor feL

the same meia,-we. ebb hear, that the slaughter
of the rebels by Hooker, exceeded anything
