Republican Senatorial Nomination, *££

in an unsuccessful attempt to agree upon a

briefly addressed the assemblage outside the
hotel, and were followed by Mr. Jessup. the

and that from henceforth there will be a hap

I.argc Vegetables.
Our friend, Mr. James Shiffer, has again
and again placed us under obligations, during
the past week, for a luscious musk-nit lon,
weighing nineteen pounds (who can beat it 7)
and a mammoth radish. One of our compos
itors desires to also acknowledge 'the corn,
as well as the gift of a very fine melon. 4 Jim '
complains that the season was not favorable
to the growth of vegetables—with how much
cause we leave for those engaged in the busi
iiefs to determine. Rut if the specimens
with which he has favored us are the produc
tions of an unfavorable season, we really
wonder to what niensttous jtnpoi li-ns they
would have grown h-id rhe season been all
that could have been desired.
