NEGRO JUSTICE. —A case recentlv oc curred in a county south of this on a lame plantation, which illustrates the negro's idea of justice, and his own views of the utility of the " black code. " One negro stole a cow from another and was detected. The plantation became excited; a mass meeting was held, and like the Senate trying Andy Johnson, resolved itself into a impeachment court—every black son of an African predetermined on conviction. The judgement of the tribunal was, that he be taken hence to convenient place, and there staked out on the ground bv the hands uhl feet, and receive one hundred and filty lashes on h s naked back, well laid on ; and for satisfaction to the owner of the cow, it was solemnly adjudged that he should have a lien upon his crop to be grown.
