The County Superintendent elect, has this day re ceived bis Commission from the Department of Corn mom Schools. He will immediately -take the required oath according to law, and enter upon the duties of his office. The first doty, after disposing of ibe correspond ence with the Department at Harrisbarg, which ha? accumulated since the first of Jane, will be to visit the Summer Schools. It sbeald be borne in mind that at least one mpnth of the time .which may ordi narily ha employed in visiting the summer schools, has already elapsed, and as a little extra time will be required in which to become acquainted with the roads and the location of the different school booses, it will be impossible for the Superintendent to visit all the schools before the expiration of the present term. Daring the first ten or fifteen minutes of each visit, the Teacher will be expected to Continue bis regular school exercises withent interruption, after which be be prepared for a review of all his classes. The Teachers’ Monthly Report Book should always be present for examination. This is particularly rec ommended by the State Superintendent. Teachers who do not read this-communication, will not be excusable; for, not to read at least ooarof the county papers is inexcusable negligence on the part of the Teacher. Directors who hare not sent in their Four Months Certificates or Annual District Reports, should do so as convenient that they may be examined and rcmailed to the Department as soon os possible. The Foot Months Certificates require a five cent rev enue stamp. The Annual Reports require none. Ail correspondence should be addressed to “ Cherry Flatts;, Tioga county, Pa.” Victor A. Elliott.
