—We have no news from the other companies.
The Dnepr.—We mentioned two, weeks ago
the excellent appointment of Hon. T. D.
Baldwin as the Enrolling Marshal of this cooaty,
Mr. Baldwin and his deputies have completed the
enrollment, and it is now in the hands ofjj. Ejiebt,
Esq., the Commissioner appointed by the governor to
superintend the drafting, and Dr. Borden, Surgeon.
These gentlemen are now engaged in bearing and
adjusting claims for exemption. As will be seen by
advertisement elsewhere, drafting will commence on
the 19th inet. ‘ A very large number were here on
Monday and Tuesday claiming exemption' from the
draft, some on the most trifling and frivolous preten
ces,’many for real causes, and some for amusement
Gne fellow elbowed, his-way through tho' crowd of
would-be exempts into the examining room. ‘‘Well
air, what ails yon?” asked Dr. B. looking at him
earnestly. “Nothing at all,” said the man with a
chuckle, “I’m just as tough os a pine knot,” and out
he went oojoying the joke on the Doctor.

that these Pills have virtues which surpass in oxo'dhmre thb
ordinary medicines, and that they win unprecedentedly upon
the esteem of nil men. They nro i-afe and ple.»R;nif to take,
but powerful to cure. Their penetrating propcstie* htimu

purge out tho foul humors which breed and grou uistempei,
stimulate sluggish or di°orl!ercd organs into their natural

every body, but also formidable and dangerous di-vase* that
'have baffled the best of human skill. While they prodne*
powerful effects, they are at the same time, in diminished
doses, the safest and beet physic that can be employed fur
children. Being sugar-coated, they ai e pleasant to take; and
being purely vegetable, are free from any risk of hqrm.
Cures have been which surpass belief weie they not
